Patients have reported better results from name brand propecia over generic. Hair loss occurs in stages. You may be stable for years then notice a sudden loss of hair. These are what are known as plateaus. The fall off from a plateau could occur next week or in a decade. Unfortunately, we do not know when they will occur.

Why one vs another?? Verteporfin reduces scar formation and Extracellular matrix promotes regeneration. Use both together as a protocol.
@forhairАй бұрын
Acell allows regeneration and reduces scarring. Our concern with Verteporfin is a bad skin reaction that would have a negative effect. There is not enough data out there. Vertaporfin does not react well to sunlight which is impossible to avoid after a hair transplant.

You're still left with a bunch of holes at the back of your scalp. It doesn't matter if anoter hair will grow right next to it. Nothing will ever grow back inside the extraction holes, which will be clearly visible if you keep the hair really short at the back and sides of your scalp. So think twice if you're planning to shave bald later on in your life or use the #1 clipper guard.
@roneneliyahu24993 ай бұрын
That's not accurate. I had a procedure with Dr. Cole back in 2006 and another small one in 2008. back then, only a few doctors did FUE, dr cole used larger punch on me (I think 1.15) because my grafts were extremely hard to extract! the FUE technique was still at the beginning. I can tell you that I get a haircut every 2 weeks, and I shave to 1 guard, and not my barber and not anyone sees any dots...sure if you get really close and really look for dots, you might find it, but who really does that? today, the punches are smaller, and with this protocol, the donor will look much better than mine, which I am happy with it,
@animeworld4life3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah? I've also had two procedures done with Dr. Cole and I have the holes to prove it. Do you have any hairs growing inside any of your holes? I don't. So how is what I said not accurate. Back of my scalp looks like Swiss cheese. It's just as embarrassing as missing hairs on top.
@forhair3 ай бұрын
There is no such thing as a scarless procedure. Anytime the body is penetrated a scar is left behind. Just donating blood leaves behind a scar, but it is not visible to the naked eye. Also, every patient is different. Some patients are prone to keloid scars and this should be discussed prior to booking a transplant. While we have not created a completely undetectable transplant, the equipment and the protocols to create immaculate donors has improved significantly. We are certain patients will be able to wear there hair down to a two guard without visible scarring. Though there are becoming more and more cases that are able to wear a much tighter hair cut than what was imagined only a few years ago.

Dr. Cole, do you still run The Hair Transplant Training Center with Dr. Ozgur at HLC in Ankara?

Dr. Ozgur runs all the training in Turkey at this point. I am no longer involved. What they teach you is up to them. If they asked me, I would give them my preferences. They do not ask. Many times they train assistants and not doctors. I do not think this serves a good long term purpose, but some may like this angle.

Any experience with GHK-CU peptide foam for maintenance? Also, do you do body hair transplants?

As you may be aware, Lauren Pickart first identified this peptide. This peptide is beneficial to hair growth and longevity. Remember that all supplement companies have no oversight on quality control. I am working on a GHK-Cu product, but it is a process. Ask Nik where we are. This copper peptide promotes hair growth and anti-aging. It is a bandaid. It is not a solutions. It is not a use it or lose it product. It might help. that's all

How is this possible? You’re removing hairs from the donor area, but the patient ultimately gains hairs in that donor area? Are new follicles being created in that area?
@forhair6 ай бұрын
We are regenerating significant portion of the donor area that is extracted. The hair that was not there before, but is apparent now is a result of transition telogen to anagen. A donor area can have 30% of the hair in the telogen phase which is dormant. If you were to turn all that hair back onto anagen, there would be a significant increase in density.
@hmdwn6 ай бұрын

How many millimeter punches do you use when removing hair grafts from the hairline?
@forhair6 ай бұрын
There isn't a one size fits all punch for hairline correction. If you have larger grafts placed along the front, you need a bigger punch and vice versa. The worst thing you can do is transect a graft you are trying to remove along the frontal hairline as it could end up buried and grow out worse than it started. Any physician that claims to only use one specific size punch is a moron and has not business performing hair restoration surgery. Our punch sizes range from .6mm-1.1mm. Look at coleinstruments.com Also note that our punches are true to size. Every other company that manufactures punches may claim to offer a .8mm. However, when we do a tricometer test on these companies punches, they are .2mm larger than what they advertise them being.
