Hi, I am in the process of picking out flooring for a new build. We are going with LVP flooring. I like the lighter tones and my husband likes the lighter ones I picked, but he also is a little partial to a bit darker tone . I live in Florida my design style is modern coastal -if I choose the darker floor, does this pose a problem and decorating modern coastal in you opinion

What does “reduced by 25%” mean? How do you ask for that at the store?

Depends. If I can piecemeal it like a living room or bedroom or even a bathroom I would work within budget and get a little at a time. If something like a kitchen and I can’t get the sink without the expensive countertop, etc. then definately wait. Same for flooring. These items should be done all or nothing imo esp. if your home is in neighborhood where these things affect home value. As far as abandoning project, that all depends on priorities. Sometimes that’s the wise choice and sometimes waiting a few years paid off because the newer trends were so much better than when I initially looked into the project. Also sometimes updating just isn’t worth it. Money best spent on 1. most used living areas like kitchen primary baths entry rather than basements bedrooms and 2ndary baths 2.. areas where things are actually unusable not simply outdated.

Very helpful advice I didn’t know. I find myself gravitating toward bright stark white trims perhaps because I love contrast and usually like to see undertones. However I chose a paint color that is too cool in the winter and overall more green than I’d like. It’s Halo by Benjamin Moore. I’m going to consider warming up the bright white trim in some of my northern rooms and see if it shows it’s creamy side before I repaint. Thx 🙏🏻 again

Often people will be puzzled as to why their home (decorated with either all warm or all cool colours) looks a little flat or “Missing something” until they introduce warm colours to their cools, or cools to their warms and are shook at how incredible it looks. Warm and cools are beautiful together and add so much more balance and harmony to the space.

Random but I have red toned darker wood floors. Not cherry but def red toned but they are solid wood floors and I don’t want to rip them out. So you have any suggestions on how to decorate to make the reddish dark floors I have look purposeful ?!
