Try resetting the amp if it has that feature

The Klipsch R-12SW is a far better sub and it delivered double the power.

The one in the video is 800 - 1,000 watts if I recall. The one you mentioned is part of their entry level reference series delivering 200 watts RMS.

This isn’t the subwoofer failing. This is the amplifier that’s failing.

@@sussybaka7198, yes but amplifier and sub are separate parts that 99.99999% of the time only fail 1 at a time. It's extremely rare to blow both amp and driver.

He is reffering to the subwoofer as the entire unit, yes we are aware, the driver is functioning

Same thing happened with mine. I live in the UK. The only authorised Klipsch repair centre is at the other side of the country in Oxford. Had to drive over 4 hours & leave it with them. They said it was a capacitor but because the amp is a sealed unit they couldn’t gain access to replace it so had to replace the entire amp unit. Fortunately it was still within the 3 year warranty.

How did you fix it? I have the same issue with my r-112sw. It worked for about 5 months and then stopped working and does the same thing yours is doing.

The amplifer card in the speaker was broken. big black burned spot on it, so i'm guessing a condensator or something broke. I sent the amplifier back and got it fixed and they added a huge resistor to it. it was easy to check. just loosen all the screws on the back and the amp comes loose easy with 3 wires connecting to the LED in front and speaker itself.

Thanks for getting back to me. The sub is only 5 months old and under warranty so I took it into the authorized warranty provider in town and they are working on it. Will update once I get it back.

Good luck! I'm sure they will figure it out. I only had mine 2 weeks... I've read alot of reviews about this speaker here in Norway atleast, and there is alot of complaint that the factory amp is "crap". I had no issues after they fixed it, and it has been running perfect ever since. Is your power cord also quite loose in to the amp? I tried to bend the pins so it stays more "in place".

@@espenlarsson, it was a little loose but that was not causing a problem. I was worried that maybe I should have done a little more research before I bought the R-112SW as it seems like there are a fair number of amplifier failures in these subs. However, the warranty company I took it to for repair is also the distributor for Klipsch products in Canada and he said their failure rates were no different than many of the other speaker product lines they carry. So, hopefully the repair will take care of the problem and it will give me years of service. Good thing is I bought two subs so I still have one working in my home theatre.

The warranty provider here in Toronto replaced the amplifier n the sub and it is now working like new again.
