GREAT WORK. Back in 1996 I phone interviewed Mr Reynolds who I think became EBR manager. He was a surveyor and son of Ross Reynolds the engineer who designed the railway between Scottsdale and Branxholme. He told me the EBR railway ran at a loss until they resurveyed the curves introducing compensated grades and transition curves. The trains had higher speed and higher loads without stalling on the banks.

Bro I grew up at west takone, there is only 2 official roads at west takone. West takone Rd, which went round to the wards and Colemans farms, and the arthur river. Then Pinners rd where we lived right at the very end. Yu can still see the remnants of our farm near the marker on Google Earth. It is the only green pasture left. There were other unofficial rds like thrush's Rd , loons Rd, and burns Rd, on top of the hill , but i cant remember any people by the name of Barrett or any Barretts Rd. Not saying it ain't there , I left in 1975, and I can honestly say I am fuckin pissed off at the bloody mess they have made up there with all the ucalypt. Can yu fill us in where it is mate .

Bloody hell I swear that looks like I am lookin out my grandmother's front window in regent street, but I think it is higher up on princess st or sea view Ave. Looks just the same as how I remember it too, except I couldn't see the sea pool , so that must have come later. I nearly drowned in it in 1968.

Bloody hell that's a rat rodder dream in there. Brings back good memories . I used to go there with a few local lads and poke around the old cars, my father had a factory at the sawmill just down the road , so we were always lookin for any mischief we could find.

I was hoping to see andy's hot rod again. I remember as a teen buying many hot rod magazines to see it and visiting all the shows I could get my parents to take me to. I stopped in and asked Andy about 10 years back if he would show his rod to my teenage son and thankfully he uncovered his rod and showed my amazed son his treasure.

Don't know if yu found him mate, but if yu go to linktasmania Burnie lawn cemetery type in his name jozef, yu will find him. He passed on in 2012 by the looks, sad to hear. As a kid I used to muck around his old car yard, there was always something to look at and do there. He would tell us to bugger off home if he caught us , it wasnt the safest place to be as a 8,10 yr old kid. My father bought a fair bit of stuff off him, we had a factory just down the road at the sawmill.
