Actually there wasn’t a corvette model year in 1983, so I think the current longest running passenger car (non-truck like you said) without interruption is the ford mustang. I’m a corvette owner. Great review. 👍
@DriveItOut10 күн бұрын
So, the way I understand the story is as follows, they decided last minute the 83 wasn't ready and they wanted to make some more changes to it. Most say it was more stiffening of the car due to the new targa top design as opposed to the t-top design. When they extended development time on the 83s they continued producing and selling 82s. When the C4 was finally ready, it was far enough into the start of the 1983 calendar year that they decided to ship the C4s as 1984s. So production never stopped, they simply skipped the number 1983. This is why the Corvette has been written about as the longest running passenger car. I hope you love your Vette. What year is it? I miss mine greatly. I've been to the National Corvette Museum and seen the 83 Vette many times. It's cool to see. Thanks a ton for watching. We actually did a video where we drove all 8 Generations of the Corvette in 1 Day. Throttle feels better in Sport. In Normal, down low, there is some hesitation on initial tip-in. That is noticeably improved in Sport. Like the turning radius, even though it doesn't have rear wheel steering. There are too many audible alerts in the safety system, but they can be turned off. Nice machine overall, at this trim level. Mazda wants to sell them, too. Got $4,000 off MSRP, plus a good return on trade-in of my 2017 Signature C-9. I liked that car fine, but this one is a cut above. That six is impressive for an AWD SUV at this price point, especially since mileage is as good as the four was in my C-9. I'm something of a motorhead. When it comes to SUVs, I've had a 2021 F-Pace SVR with a supercharged V8, which I've recently traded in for a 2025 Range Rover Sport with a twin turbo V8. This car is not those when it comes to driving dynamics. But it's less than half the price, and its cabin and dynamics are nothing to sneeze at. It's the wife's main drive around town now.
@DriveItOut24 күн бұрын
Like your analysis. I, too, believe the CX-70 to be really good initial value for the $$. I'd be interested to hear more about your experiences in maintenance and upkeep as it compares to the Rover after you've had each vehicle for a while down the road. This is a new drivetrain for Mazda, and I'm really interested to see how it's going for owners long-term. What made you shop the CX-70? Interested to know if you shopped the new MDX as well.
@gummiesrule8824 күн бұрын
@@DriveItOut The RR is almost certanly going to cost more to operate and maintain. Pretty amazing air suspension ride, though, surprisingly agile and with beaucoup power and torque. I never would have given up the SVR on my own, but the better half wanted the RR. The MDX I would have wanted by performance is the S model, but it cost too much spec'd as I'd like it. CX-70 seemed a better value. Fits my line-up better, as it's replacing the C-9.
@DriveItOut24 күн бұрын
I dig it. Nicely done. I bet you all will enjoy the RR and the CX-70 for quite a while. What do you miss about the Jag?
@gummiesrule8823 күн бұрын
@@DriveItOut Jag has a racing heritage, which you feel and hear behind the wheel. No air suspension, superb exhaust sound and a button to push to open a valve and hear it roar. LR tradition is not racing. It's very capable when pushed, but no rawness to it at all. The RR is really LR with fewer offroad pretensions. The target audience is different, or has been. Owned by the same company, and dunno whether Jag will even survive.

@DriveItOutАй бұрын
The NC Miata is a great car, full stop, before the transmission is even mentioned. That said, with this car, it's less about dissing the automatic and mostly about praising the manual. It's a great manual transmission and often regarded as having one of the greatest shifters ever offered in a modern car. To choose the automatic is choosing to miss out on that. If you want a great car thats fun to drive, the Auto NC is a great choice. If you want the more engaging dance partner, there are few cars on earth as good as the manual NC. That's why the manual version will always be spoken of more highly than the auto. But, as you said, the Auto NC is a great car too. Really appreciate you watching!

4 year checkup.. is it still a bargain? Even an ls2 c6?
@DriveItOutАй бұрын
Yes. The LS2 is a bargain as well, for sure, but the LS3 is the real steal. The LS3 is arguably the greatest V8 ever made and is historic. I think its longevity, adaptability, and parts availability will stand the test of time for longer than I'll be alive. It's truly everything GM learned with LS1 & LS2 perfected. A 2008-2013 Vette is an amazing way to get an LS3 in a lighterweight platform, built for speed and handling, all while being incredibly aerodynamic and fuel efficient. I think they will be a bargain for another 10 years, and then they will start to go up as everyone realizes they are amazing classics that are easy to live with and require little maintenance. This was one of our very 1st videos and we've come a long way. I miss this car. We put it on camera again when we drove All 8 Generations of the Corvette in 1 Day! See what you think of that video. Truly means alot. Is C6 your favorite Vette?
@geoffnelson64Ай бұрын
@DriveItOut awesome background on your personal history with the C6! I just picked up my first. It's definitely my favorite bodystyle as it's the one I saw as a kid. Mine is a 2006, 6AT (which i wanted), has 60k miles 1 owner, 100% stock. 3lt package, it has everything. Black with black leather. Local car and i paid $19,999. I could have got an ls3 but it would have been at the least $5k more for what was a budget car. I think this is a very huge bang for your buck with this purchase. My only plans for mods are paddle shifters (ordered), a cold air intake, muffler delete, and a tune for the engine/trans. I've got a 1998 z28 t56 fully built race car, so the corvette will just be a cruiser.
@DriveItOutАй бұрын
Awesome! I have lots of time in an 06 Black on Black Vette Convertible Auto. Many great memories. I've also been through 3 Camaros, including a 98 Z28 with the T56. That was black on black as well. Sounds like we've had similar tendencies. I'm excited for your time in your new ride. What part of the country are you in? You get good weather?

What is the point on having warranty if Ford will keep your car for months in the dealer, trying to figure out why it doesnt start sometimes, it stops accelerating out of nowhere, it vibrates like hell sometimes in hughway, (Focus 2012) or your tires explode in highway and rollover (explorer) I used to be a Ford fan but not anymore
