4 year checkup.. is it still a bargain? Even an ls2 c6?
@DriveItOut
@DriveItOut 22 сағат бұрын
Yes. The LS2 is a bargain as well, for sure, but the LS3 is the real steal. The LS3 is arguably the greatest V8 ever made and is historic. I think its longevity, adaptability, and parts availability will stand the test of time for longer than I'll be alive. It's truly everything GM learned with LS1 & LS2 perfected. A 2008-2013 Vette is an amazing way to get an LS3 in a lighterweight platform, built for speed and handling, all while being incredibly aerodynamic and fuel efficient. I think they will be a bargain for another 10 years, and then they will start to go up as everyone realizes they are amazing classics that are easy to live with and require little maintenance. This was one of our very 1st videos and we've come a long way. I miss this car. We put it on camera again when we drove All 8 Generations of the Corvette in 1 Day! See what you think of that video. @DriveItOut awesome background on your personal history with the C6! I just picked up my first. It's definitely my favorite bodystyle as it's the one I saw as a kid. Mine is a 2006, 6AT (which i wanted), has 60k miles 1 owner, 100% stock. 3lt package, it has everything. Black with black leather. Local car and i paid $19,999. I could have got an ls3 but it would have been at the least $5k more for what was a budget car. I think this is a very huge bang for your buck with this purchase. My only plans for mods are paddle shifters (ordered), a cold air intake, muffler delete, and a tune for the engine/trans. I've got a 1998 z28 t56 fully built race car, so the corvette will just be a cruiser.

What is the point on having warranty if Ford will keep your car for months in the dealer, trying to figure out why it doesnt start sometimes, it stops accelerating out of nowhere, it vibrates like hell sometimes in hughway, (Focus 2012) or your tires explode in highway and rollover (explorer) I used to be a Ford fan but not anymore

Excellent review! I've been a vette guy for 35+ years. Currently have an 04 coupe. I recently purchased a 1 owner, low mile, 5 spd 97 Miata. This little 4 cylinder is an absolute blast to drive. @@DriveItOut I drove the CX-50 too as I was comparing to the CX-5. I was actually looking in the midsize realm and drove other midsizers but the CX-5 won me over, it’s tad smaller but it’s arguably the better buy provided you don’t need much more space, it’s interior felt a bit more upscale like a BMW on a budget, and it has the independent rear suspension going for it. And it was much cheaper. But my experience with it has converted me to a Mazda faithful- they don’t sell as much as its competitors but the quality and build is up there with Toyota and Honda easily.

Yah. I've hand washed and hand detailed all my cars for 20 years. Between that and my career and playing sports and carrying my children around, I simply have no shoulders left. My right shoulder is especially toast. I reserve my arms for detailing whatever sports car I currently have and throwing the ball with my kiddos. It's all I've got left in me. It's just my unique situation. The car wash bothers me too, but I've just had to die to it with my family car. I still clay bar and hand wax it once a year, but other than that, my wife and I just drive it through the car wash with our monthly membership. I just make sure I don't buy black cars anymore, because I just dont have the capacity to take care of them like I used too. The Zircon Sand color on this CX-5 hides blemishes well. I chose the color on purpose for that reason. I just sold my Miata and that car was a joy to hand wash and detail because it was so small. It took no time at all. Currently have a WRX, but will have another Miata in the future. I will enjoy taking care of it by hand for all of eternity, but thats the extent of my hand washing future. Thanks a ton for watching! The CX-5 is still in great shape cosmetically. Will have another video on it soon.

Good question. I haven't looked in a while. I no longer have this car, but I plan on getting another NC in the future. I will say that I remember there being differing opinions on whether you should replace the small speakers between the heads of the seats or if you could get away with just putting higher quality speakers in the doors. It seemed up for debate whether the middle speakers between the seats mattered a whole lot. They do make a real nice amp and sub combo that mounts nicely behind the seats. Flywheel Films did a great video on this unit. Here's the link.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX2mmZtondqGgsUsi=Aket3uQOBjR4dbOF He hasalot of great videos on mods for the NC. I hope this helps! The only people who should consider buying a used, out of warranty, German car are mechanics. “German engineering” means overly complex, hard to repair, and brutally expensive. Even the good ones (older cars predating electronics) are ridiculously costly. Ex. My son had a Jeep Liberty. I had a turbo Cayenne. Both needed an upper control arm: Jeep - $40; Porsche - $1,600. Every mechanical repair will costs in the thousands and this is especially true for 911s because there is no room in the engine bay to repair them. They are beautiful and fun, but buyer beware.

Many well reputed you tubers recently started claiming that final edition would continue till model 2025 “final final edition “ but apparently they are just copying each other without even verifying. I love the C6 Zo6. It's a special car. All that engine + traditional hydraulic power steering for great steering feel + it's pretty lightweight. It's my favorite Zo6 by far. It begs for an engaged driver. I'd love to own one. That said, my 2008 LS3 allowed me to remove the top, which I did often. The C6 Zo6 does not do that. This is why so many C6 buyers go for the Gtand Sport. Also, the LS3 is arguably the greatest V8 ever made. They are super reliable, and there are parts everywhere. I really enjoyed my carefree ownership experience. Great power all over the rev range, and 2008 through 2013 have a great 6spd manual that feels fantastic. It also drove and felt lighter than the generations after it. I prefer that lightweight and playful feel. I hope you get one my friend. They are a joy.

I mean I wish the rear hatch was trimmed a bit more than what they did. It still looks like a suv minivan from the back and I can't unsee it. They slapped some cosmetic changes from the 90 and called it a new model. There's more than enough room for most people if they trimmed it up a bit and made it less heavy and more agile. Somewhere between the 60 and the 90. That's my only gripe. It's not different enough form the 90 to warrant paying the same and not getting the utility of a third row.
@DriveItOut
@DriveItOut 2 ай бұрын
It really does look good in person. It doesn't put out minivan vibes. Also, I know many people dont think the slight changes warrant a different model name from the CX-90, but it doesn't bother me. The Honda Pilot and Passport aren't that different. Just one has 2 rows, and the other has 3 rows, and nobody seems to care all that much. Sometimes, they make model name decisions strictly for marketing purposes. The CX-70 has tons and tons of cargo room, and it gets to brag about that separate from the CX-90. Maybe there is some marketing reason there. I'm not sure. I personally wish more vehicles had actual names instead of just combinations of numbers and letters. It's supposed to make things feel more sophisticated or luxurious, but numbers and letters are boring to me. Most of the cars I love the most have actual names. Thanks a ton for watching!
@Rockytop8118
@Rockytop8118 2 ай бұрын
@@DriveItOut Of course, great review! Agreed, the CX-70 is a great car in its own right and perhaps if it was released at the same time as 90 or even before, it'd be different, but the longing for a more sporty 2-row with the new powertrain and interior design is still there and with the 60 from arms reach, it just feels upsetting. I wanted it and I don't want the 70's bulk. the PIlot/Passport template would have been perfect - There's a 7 inch difference in length and 2 inches in height and the weight difference is dramatic and that affects agility and mobility and "sportiness". In fact, despite the Pilot being 10" shorter, there's actually more useable cargo than the 70 (due to the I6). Just a more refined rear design without the need for a bulgy component for the headroom would have been enough to capture a larger buying audience and the sales numbers will eventually show that shortcoming.
@DriveItOut
@DriveItOut 2 ай бұрын
We shall see. Perhaps the next generation CX-70 will differentiate itself more. The RWD bias definitely makes it more sporty to drive than competitors. If it were slightly smaller i think it could really give the MDX a run for its money. I also still think the Pilot and Passport are so similar that most people don't know the difference. But, yah, put a sportback stile roof on the back of the CX-70 to look more sleek and go after the MDX. I love that idea the more I think about it. There's no 3rd row to worry about headroom. Although, the MDX has that tiny 3rd row. It's tuff to find direct competitors for the CX-70. The Passport is FWD bias and not luxurious enough to compete with it in my mind. Anyways, good conversation.

I bought a 2025 Melting Copper Metallic w/ “Greige” leather interior CX-70 PHEV Premium (special-ordered from Japan, as all dealer-allocated vehicles w/ Premium trim packages in my region had black interiors), and paid the exact same as I would have for a 3-row CX-90 PHEV Premium, but getting blacked-out exterior trim (I hate chrome) and avoiding a 3rd row for rugruts (my late wife & I consciously didn’t have children), having an adjustable, 60/40-split bench rear seat (instead of 2nd-row captains’ chairs straight from the ‘70s!).

Sounds like quite a ride. Hope you love it! Perhaps you need a Miata in a really cool color to fit next to it in the garage. Perfect for dates and fun get aways. That would be a great garage. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the review I own the CX90 Turbo SPP and i love it. Now thinking about the CX70 as another vehicle to get. Agree with all what you said. Cx90 and 70 still underrated in my opinion as people are looking for a family hauling thing not caring about driving dynamics/experience.

This is great to hear. We've been doing videos on our new CX-5, 3 episodes so far on long term ownership. We really like it. I've had a Mazda 3 in the past that was really good to us, and of course our Miata was our favorite. Hoping to have another Miata some day. I really hope the new inline 6 is discovered by many. It's quite good. Really great to hear about your experience.

Thanks. I've been crushing the Miata since it first dropped in 1989, but the time never seemed right financially.

1. Is that the standard roof rack that comes from Mazda? 2. Have you found that changing the octane of the gas makes a big difference and how peppy the car is? 3. How was the ride on gravel? 4. How comfortable were the seats for a long ride?

1. Yes, standard roof rack from Mazda. (See Episode 2 prior to this one for full options list.) 2. I have only put premium in this vehicle so far. 3. Ride on gravel was far, but not as good as something with smaller wheels and bigger tires. 4. The seats were fantastic for the long ride. Not too soft, not too firm. Thanks for watching!
