Ah thanks, I definitely didn't like Blake lively attitude in the interview but the way Flaa acted afterwards was so odd to me. She said that she posted that interview with Blake while not knowing the backlash she was facing... She seems manipulative, I don't know just a bad gut feeling from her.

Hi! New sub here. Found your channel today and have enjoyed the videos that I've watched! I only now just realized you are a small channel. I wouldn't have thought it because you seem like a pro. 😊 I appreciate your take on today's topic. I think we should definitely consider the weight of our comments online. I also think we should take a step back before we do anything too reactive or decide we are offended. Extending grace to ourselves and others is probably the best way we can continue in our humanity. I'm really tired of meanness and ready for people to start being able to cast a self-aware eye on themselves as well as thinking critically about what they hear online. Can't we all just be nice?

Thanks for this comment 🫶 And yes, extending grace/humanity is something we really do have to purposefully practice! And I think it’s something that catches on/will someday become the norm.

I've highkey gotten the ick from Madeline for years now. She makes a lot of really problematic statements. Like she literally made a whole video about how North Korea is actually good ??? It feels very performative and gross and the fact that she can't do anything wrong because she pays her workers a living wage is laughable. She is a picture of the unhinged snowflake marxists that the alt right thinks all liberals are. Idk, she is a normal person at the end of the day but she has so much power and to make a claim that the DNC tried to bribe you is soooooooo irresponsible. No better than all the MAGA idiots who think their "taxpayer dollars" are paying for Kamala's ads.

You focus more on how you feel rather than how you look and slowly, hopefully, you feel more rounded as a person. More yourself.

This was a really welcome, reassuring, and fun video! I grew up in New England so I know allllll about humidity, and being just a handful of hours from the Main coast, Montreal, Boston, and NYC. Pretty amazing. But I've found the winters here to be longggg. Nowhere is perfect, but if the worst thing I have to deal with is dreary January, I think I can handle it! 🎉 By the way, can I ask what Portland neighborhoods you can recommend the most? ❤

Thanks so much! And definitely agree about January-just have to muscle through it! We were in Sunnyside, which is in Southwest Portland. HIGHLY recommend. @VascovanZellerАй бұрын
In general I think boxes help a lot with controlling and avoiding clutter. If you'd designate a box for a certain purpose, then that limits the available space for that purpose, keeping you in check. It also prevents things from spreading and allows you to use height (on shelves for example) more efficiently. Same goes for drawers, having them segmented just help keep everything in order. For cables and cords in particular, I like ziploc (ziplock?) bags and putting all cables of the same type in the bag. So I'll have usb-c to usb-c in one bag, usb-a to usb-c in another, microusb in another and so on. Bags are better than taping them because one bag can contain several cable and they can be reused.
@briemmeАй бұрын
Dude the ziploc idea is so underrated. Especially if it can be a ziploc *inside* a box 🤌perfection🤌

Honestly, I don't blame Chappell for yelling back. I heard that (ALLEGEDLY) the paparazo who yelled stfu was actually arguing with someone & the timing of it made it appear that he was yelling at her since she was talking to somebody. While it seems to be a misunderstanding, I'm glad she fought back. Ik that papparazi aren't known for being the most professional but some of them really need to learn to keep their mouths shut & just take the damn photos. There's been instances of them yelling some very outlandish, problematic, & even derogatory things at these events (EX: the racism controversy at this years met gala). It's even gotten to a point where some of them will literally yell at or even get into physical altercations with one another, staff, & even fans.

Exactly! I just know I would yell back too or at least kick myself later for not yelling back. Even if it wasn't actually directed at her, the pap was still still *so* unprofessional

Even folk like dj ride and lil uzi vert have a specific look they’re going for and probably stuck with. please dont use femme and girl/woman interchangeably. femme is a term for queer men and women who present more femininely and often (not always) take on traditionally "female" roles whether in their relatonships or other aspects of their lives. it is Not another word for woman. it is an identifier term. you wouldnt say that "butch" refers to men. femme is the same in the opposite direction and applies to gay men as well (whereas butch doesn't) . please respect femmes by not referring to our term as just another word for woman, or something that implies inherent she/her pronouns.
@psychedelicaoverturned2 ай бұрын
for example, chappell roan is a femme lesbian. usually "flamboyant" gay men are femme. both my partner and i are nonbinary and transgender and femme. neither of us are a man or a woman. we're both still femme. and not to be "oFfEnDeD" but i do take offense to my identity being reduced to something it is not. i am not a woman. my partner is not a woman. gay men who wear skirts and makeup and jewelry and act like theyre somebodys nonna are not women. the thing we all are is femme.
@briemme2 ай бұрын
Ah gosh sorry about that. I used it to be more inclusive of nonbinary identities, as I have a friend who self-describes as femme and nonbinary, and uses the term "femme" the way I did in the vid. I hear you! And thanks for your comment. I'll be more careful with the term.
@psychedelicaoverturned2 ай бұрын
@@briemmethank you for hearing me out :-) a lot of people are uneducated on a lot of queer terms tbh, social media has watered down a lot of things that have solid definitions and were created by queer people (and frequently bipoc) so i dont blame anyone for not knowing. have a good day!!
@scarlettdamante49452 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for saying this! It's especially uncomfortable for gay men & TRANS MEN who happen to be femme when ppl use it interchangeably for women. Can imagine butch and gender non conforming women also being saddned or even just women who happen to be masculine bc of life circumstances (like being an only mother and having to work a "masculine job" like plumbing to provide) basicly being told you're less of a women bc of your distance from femininity.
@bethanymiller87612 ай бұрын
@@scarlettdamante4945 @edwin-bj7ry Sorry, kids, you're going to have to get over yourselves. Femme is literally the word for woman in French. I liked this video, but 5:06 I had some thoughts on. I don’t think it’s wrong that women are the majority doinh household tasks and being the “primary caregiver” (mother). In fact that’s exactly what I want to do when I’m married to a man. I’m not going to “choose” to do the least possible, I choose to do this. Also, women have motherly instincts men don’t have. It makes sense they’re the ones who take care of their kids. I think women def should have a choice on whether they want to do household labor and be primary caregiver or not, but I would actually really like to
@onemin87292 ай бұрын
I mean, it is still true that women do this more often than men. Saying that we have more "instincts" and so it makes sense that we are the ones taking care of our children feels more like a justification of something that will always be pushed on women no matter their decision. Not saying that you're wrong by wanting to do so, It's great, but let's not be blind to the problems of the perspective of "well, It's only natural for you to do this"
@el9722 ай бұрын
Actually it’s a problem, women carry the society on their backs doing unpaid labor, this is just pushing gender norms and labeling as natural because you want it and it’s trying to somehow justify it, if this was natural women wouldn’t be forced and groomed to this type of behavior all their lives, just say you want it this and drop the b-but nature, all this trad wife thing is just a way to trap women because you don’t have money at all and it’s taxed mentally/physically by taking care of the house, baby and your husband that also acts like a baby

I wonder how artists like Billie Eilish fit into this because I remember she was lauded for not ‘Sexualising’ herself in the beginning but then during her second album when started dressing feminine she actually saw a huge drop in popularity and now she’s back to her masc self and popular again. She also has talked in interviews about how she hated her fem phase because it didn’t feel like her at all
@briemme2 ай бұрын
This is such a good point. For Billie’s drop in popularity during that phase, I wonder if it’s because her fans like her for her authenticity? And maybe the whole femme phase felt performative. Hard to say but I like this idea!
@Nightwillow-jk7zd2 ай бұрын
I mean kinda made sense for her not to sexualize herself then since she was a teenager
@Krieksu2 ай бұрын
I think there's more to it than just her presenting more feminine, I remember a lot of her fans were turned off by her alleged queerbaiting (either way I don't think people should have to come out unwillingly and i think the way fans handled that was very invasive), plus she started dating The Neighborhood's singer or something, and he was really old plus he met her when she was a teen and that made a lot of people uncomfortable.
