They could've added the props found on the other fair dark rides made by Owen Trailers to replace the old animatronics that stopped working.

@@n8nawesome Actually, I saw the two props on another fair video and learned they are from Home Depot 🤷🏻♂️. Still one of the worst portable dark rides I have been on… and that’s saying something!

The Barrel Works is a vastly underrated dark ride in my opinion. It is very well maintained, has some good jump scare effects and the incredibly loud sound effects make for a memorable ride. Just realized that this was 5 years ago. I need to get back to the islands next summer. Such a beautiful place to spend an afternoon… and to explore a creepy haunted barrel factory!

As I mentioned in the description, I didn’t get to stay long… but I do think this is a good fair. They pack a lot into a small space. Durant brought a decent selection of rides: Flying Bobs, YoYo, Pharaoh’s Fury, Orbiter, slide, Super Shot drop tower, Ferris Wheel, merry-go round, Typhoon, and a selection of kids rides. Favorite thing? Again, I’d have to say the food selection. For a smaller fair, there’s a pretty good variety of vendors.

No, it was just a traditional dark ride on a rail, even though the vehicles were shaped like boats! It was a lot of fun. Hard to believe it’s been gone for over 25 years now…

@@NYY34 Only ones I can definitely say were $8 for a large fry at the vendor on the backside of the grandstand and $10 for a dozen donuts and $8 for 6 waffles from Lerch’s Donuts. I think I saw a fish sandwich for $10… but everything else I did not notice. Sorry!

I went Saturday afternoon. They started a new process accepting credit cards in addition to cash at the entrance gate. Caused a huge slowdown and long line just trying to get in to the fair. Hopefully they get this remedied soon, because a lot of people are going to be angry if they don't.

Fair was nice but crazy busy, weather was cool and comfortable, and I enjoyed it a lot. Major rides were the Ferris Wheel, Slide, Rockstar, Hurricane, Twister, Vertigo, Scooter, Cliff Hanger and Zero Gravity. Crazy Cabs and several kids rides (along with Bates’ Looney Belle fun house) were also available.

That I do not know. I saw a Spiess’ Fries, and there were several other stands (the one by the grandstand in particular had fantastic fries!), but I can’t say for certain if Fiske Fries was in attendance. My apologies!

Sad the tornado is still only traveling in counter clockwise rotation. Used to be able to run full power in both directions not sure why they no longer operate like this, cant imagine its not capable after all the money they've invested in this machine over the last few decades plus. It is a shame to see the art cleaned up it was awesome back in the mid 90's original art on scenery and a killer incandescent lighting package which just looked amazing with every light working... LED PACKAGE LOOKS PHENOMENAL but these old rides being original looks great also. Love they Changed theme on Full Tilt to Flying Dutchman, but a shame it no longer tilts at the Apex anymore, the whole vehicle would tilt forward up top like it was falling forward which was a neat gimmick... this trailer used to be Their ARM Inverter ride and reithoffer had it converted originally as FULL TILT. Also Rethemed KMG freak out to Inferno which was a cool idea! I believe someone had a freakout accident on a show other than Reithoffers midway and they probably just changed up the theme to make it stand out from all the other KMG freak out modles all of which in USA have the same Theme/Name until now! Not many folks know that these rides often get refurbished or theme changes to help shake things up on the midway. IDK why they dont refurbish that Selner tilt -a- whirl and that Chance zipper could use a nice Vinyl wrap for their Tubs, the trailer was painted not long ago though. I just love the job Reithoffer does for all of their Units at keeping rides fresh and midway exciting! The blue unit also has a great selection of rides which have been refurbished.

Thanks for all the info. I’m relatively new to Reithoffer and have only seen the Orange Unit at Canfield the past few years. Their equipment does seem to be well maintained, although I do wish their YoYo ran a bit faster! I thought the Full Tilt was tilting 2 years ago, but as you pointed out, it did not seem to be tilting in its new theme. I really wish they would rotate rides between the Blue and Orange Units though. The Ice Jet and Air Race would be nice to see, and if they still have that Terminus “dark ride”, I’d love to get on that, even if it is just an empty trailer. 😀

It’s essentially an updated version of the old Rotor ride. Passengers stand against a padded “seat”, the ride spins crazy fast, and then the padded “seats” slide upwards, leaving you essentially hanging with nothing beneath you. I cannot handle these at all due to the amount of force exerted, but they must be popular since there are so many out there!

Years ago me and my family got to see John Mellencamp play there. It was a great show. Place was packed! We had trouble finding parking even though we left 2 hours early. Tons of food vendors and lots of walking space.

This is by far my favorite county fair that I have been to in Ohio. It is truly enormous. My favorite thing would probably be the tons of food vendors. Seriously, I am the world’s pickiest eater and even I like tons of the food they have here. If someone can’t find something you like here, they are pickier than I am! Again, I didn’t ride anything due to my recent back problem, but if I had to,pick a “best” ride, it would probably be Tornado. That’s one massive machine to move, and I just love the “Huss sound” of it all!

@@jameslitwin5635 I saw G-Force up for sale on a used ride site… not sure if they still use it as like you said, it has been a while. You are right, it does seem like they have downsized quite a bit. I’ll probably head over to the Wayne County Fair in 2 weeks. They at least had their Quasar there (another ride I haven’t seen yet this year).
