LORD MANC I completely agree with you, especially back when smart phones didn’t exist or high quality cameras for an affordable price. I typically record 1 or two songs from a show for the sole purpose of referencing back on great memories and then spend the rest of my time “rocking out” I also remember before social media and youtube, people didn’t hide behind their computer, talking trash to other people. But hey, thanks for watching and you’re welcome for the clip. 🤘😝

Dam, was never ever expecting this, very well composed

What happened to all of the huge oak trees? In the 1970's this was THE PLACE for keg parties. Often the DJ's at KGB FM and KPRI FM would even mention them on-air, but that was usually the cue to split. Once a keg party gets big enough to be radio news, the San Diego County Sheriffs would respond. Ever see the movie "Dazed and Confused" That was Mission Dam on Friday and Saturday nights minus the "moon tower". Another curiosity about that locale in the 1970's was the old cable car. One and a half to two miles south of the dam, there was a manually operated cable car that traversed the river over a rocky gorge. Never found out what it was for, but the county tried to keep it tethered on the less accessible side of the river, but stoners like us would risk life and limb to liberate it and pull it with a rope back over to the east side of the gorge so we could ride in it. It sat four people and was basically a rectangular bucket with an angle iron suspension frame and two pulleys riding on a tightly strung 1/2" diameter wound metal cable. We would pull ourselves out mid-way about 50 feet over the gorge and river and smoke a few doobs. Great fun. At least until some dickhead would stand and begin bouncing the car. scaring the living shit out of the other passengers. Haven't been back there in decades. I wonder if there is any remnant left of that old cable car.

I'm a retired senior, for purposes of full disclosure. I've been to Devil's Den several times and I won't go back any time the high school or college kids are out of school. I'm a scuba diver and the kids seemed to be more interested in congregating at the foot of the stairs, talking and shivering. The water is 71 degrees Fahrenheit. It's cold. That's why divers wear a wet suit.The lines to get in are very long... like an hour. And when you're busy trying to refine some aspect of your diving ability, some kid will decide to jump off of the deck and land 2 feet in front of you......they're absolutely oblivious to the surroundings.
@MrRobjs836 жыл бұрын
yep, we were waiting in line stuck at the top of the stairs for 20 min. at least and people ahead of us were not scuba diving and completely oblivious to the fact that we are supposed to have the right of way with all our gear on. And no one was there enforcing that rule either.
