I never thought about it before. How did he make his hands fat for several of the characters? Those do not look like gloves, and I can't imagine any material you could possibly make 'fatsuit gloves' out of that look legitimately like skin, and black dude skin at that. all the creases are in there, no new weird creases.. imagine the time it would take getting in all this makeup for all these characters, and for several of them you don't even have your own fingers available.

The dialog in this scene is iconic and memorable, but I feel like the visual humor deserves as much love. You have Cletus pouring the gravy on his plate while saying "I know what healthy is!", there's the kid dumping salt on his plate and Sherman carefully sprinkling a tiny amount on his, then there's grandma eating the peas with her hands because she's having trouble with the silverware. It all ties this scene together.
