I'm a Japanese living in the UK and I found this hilarious! Their stereotypical impressions are quite good, and the funniest thing is that Martin Clunes is virtually unknown in Japan 😂

Some say this is racist on screen, but then is it racist for anyone English to speak Japanese or any other foreign languages?

There’s a few reasons why this type of show was scrapped. 1. It was mediocre comedy writing 2. Dressing in drag will only take you so far and 3. People have become more aware of discrimination. They’re like a modern version of Bernard Manning.

I’m white and American, but I love this show so much. I love how they take so many stereotypes, add a little bit of the truth and then exaggerate so much on another character flaw to build irony. Like precious, she is so precious and religious like many Africans are. But how they make her always want to close up early haha. And they do it for like every race, gender, culture. It’s not meant to be taken seriously or offensive. Tell me you’ve never heard or seen Japanese fan girls or any fan girls for that matter who are not obsessed and willing to travel all over to see their idol. To me, it’s so cute and funny, and I love how they poke at Japan for having some amazing fan girls who are crazy like this 😂it makes me love Japanese culture even more. And don’t get me started on precious. I love her soo much! I’ve definitely know a few precious women (white, black, American, Canadian, Jamaican in my life). The women who praise god all the time and love talking and sharing a little bit of their life with everyone they come across . It’s so sweet. I miss the days we could laugh at our shared humanity, our quirks. And our lives. and people didn’t take offense to everything.

This show was too absurd to be offensive. That was the point. That and making fun of the existence of stereotypes to begin with. Satire.

Such a sad state of affairs that every top comment has to be a justification of them making fun of everyone equally. Who cares. It's just funny. We don't need a pretext of them doing it equally to people. Nobody gives a shit.
