This is the only part of The Nutcracker I know about. Other than that, I don't have the slightest clue. I think I may have seen a movie version as a child and I remember the Russian dancers. I don't even know the story line.

It can be done by 2 or 3 . Just like the other choreography with jumps it can be done by 3 or 4

Just beatiful. Not my favourite ballet musically but the choreography is extremely intricate and deceptively physically demanding. Bournonville is all about footwork rather than the larger movements and pirouettes of Perot or Petipa. The spectator really has to concentrate.

This is not Bournonville, it's Lacotte "after" Taglioni. Bournonville's Sylphide is a very different ballet choreography-wise

Why do they have her arms like this? She doesn't even give the swan arms... not the dancer's fault. its the person who instructed her on how to dance, its their fault. I don't like it.

fun fact: the dance of the big swans is always performed by the tallest girls in the company and the dance of cyngets (the four girls) is performed by the shortest girls in the company.

I love this version! Odette and Siegfried's urgency and desperation is apparent in the feverish choreography while in other productions their movements are slow and lacklustre at this point in the ballet. The situation and the music is frantic at this point! I also loved the swans standing together against Rothbart and avenging Odette's death. The corps' final choreography was exceptional!
