From the director's and staging point of view, the film is not bad. But the anti-Soviet propaganda, the demonization of the Russian "commissars" and the propaganda of Nazism are obvious. Yes, this propoganda is not open, but it is (it works on standard methods of comparing something bad (Nazism) and something much more terrible (communism)). In general, the film will normally go only to those people who hate communism, the USSR and everything connected with them. P.s.: a magnificent Hollywood cliché that the Russians were attacking with a wide chain, standing tall and screaming URA!, after which they went straight to the enemy machine guns without trying to hide behind cover.

Whole point of this movie is that estonians were fighting against other estonians in foreign uniforms. PS: The Narva front was almost completely composted of foreign legion (Estonians, Norwegians, Dutch etc.)

I don't know did you know it, but estonian Waffen SS troops rarely had ideological motivations. They just wanted to do what ever they could to fight against the soviets who had annexed their country. Many were also drafted.

I have seen the whole film, and I can assure you that I dind´t notice any Nazi propaganda in the film, both communism and nazism are depicted as evil ideologies that resulted in the suffering and the death of millions, can you denied that? You´re right about the opening minutes of the film, the ridiculous depicting of the Red Army running straight towards the enemy without taking cover. I personally love the fact that this film describes the motivation and thinking of many estonians that decided to joined the german army, and the emotions that it provokes. It´s clear that these estonians were not fighting to defend the nazi ideology or Hitler, but they fought for their land and their independence, and they knew that the soviet were coming back to impose on most of their people the communims system, the colectivization and the deportation of many estonians nationalist to Siberia, things that they did from 1940 to 1941, when the Soviet Union imposed for the first time communism on them...These are historic facts..!!

Great Film, with Capital Letters..!! My Congratulations to the Estonian Film industry...Finally a Film that make understand to us, citizens of other european countries, the truth behind the thousands of soldiers from the Baltic States that joined the Wahffen-SS...They were fighting for they Homeland, for their Independence, Not to defend Any Cruel Superpower neither any Bloody National-Socialist Régime...Many of them saw their family being sent to Siberia by the Nkvd after the annexation of the Baltic by Stalin in june 1940, and their independence being abolished by the Soviet commisars and their locals communist allies...Most were recruited by either the Soviet Army or the German Wermacht... My respects and desire that this film and some others will be seen by millions of people, to open the eyes of many Non- Baltic states citizens that doesn´t know the real History of the events during WW2 in this part of the World....
