This is the c2c equivalent of a fabulous beach reading book, I really love it. Question: can you advise is there a way to adapt this to changing two colors (to make stripes) but carrying the yarn so you don't have to weave in ends? Or should I settle for using a magic knot at the points of color change and risk things not looking quite as neat as they should?
@SnufflebeanYarn13 сағат бұрын
If you take a look at my striped mitred square video you could use the technique I use for that to carry yarn up the edges when you change colours :)

I highly appreciate your detailed teaching instructions. And you are very patient in teaching. LOVE the blankets you have made. Will be starting a blanket as my nephew has a baby boy on 25th January 2025. Thank you once again. ❤❤❤

Good morning, I loved your clear instructions and made a wonderful blanket. I would like to pick your brains please. I am experienced but mainly with amigurumi. I am making a shawl with scheepjes whirl on recommended hook 3.5. It feels a bit loose but I don't know if that's because I'm used to working on two hook sizes down at least for amigurumi. I messaged the pattern designer about thus but all she offered was 'trust your instincts'. Not much help there. So I'm continuing and possibly blocking will improved the finish, being a shawl you don't want it too stiff. I'm just wondering, in your opinion, do you always go down a hook size generally speaking. Do you have any experience of making a lace shawl. I would appreciate your thoughts please, thanks xxx
@SnufflebeanYarn3 күн бұрын
I do think the designer is right when she says to trust your instincts. However if you’re coming to a shawl after the tight stitches needed for amigurumi then you probably are going to find your stitches feel super loose. Personally, I use a 3.5mm hook with a Scheepjes whirl and like the drape it gives, but if you are really struggling with the way your stitches look then you could always size down hook size. Just be aware it’ll affect the finished size of your shawl. Hope that helps a little 🙂

I have a question. My knitted piece is knit on US #19. I do not have a #19 double point needle, what do you recommend? Just to use my largest double point or my largest circular that I have? Thank you!!!

What if we are using chunky yarn how many stitches should one cast on for a size for 3 year old boy
@SnufflebeanYarn6 күн бұрын
I don’t work with chunky yarn so I’m really not sure, it’s something you’d need to experiment with to get the size you want

Your video was incredibly straight forward. I am looking forward to adjusting the border on my Annie’s Knit Afghan Block of the Month Club to have neater corners. This is a much more finished look than they share.

I love that technique I will certainly use it, but I have one question; Is it possible to knit that pattern in a round?
@SnufflebeanYarn7 күн бұрын
Not in its current form no, you’d need to make adjustments to one of the rows and introduce purls instead of knits.

Never have I seen a purl stitch done quite so complicatedly, it seems to have about 4 twists. Does it make a better fabric than a normal purl?
@SnufflebeanYarn15 күн бұрын
It’s a Norwegian purl, I really struggle to purl if I physically move the working yarn to the front and this method allows me to keep the working yarn always at the back 🙂 it’s the only way of purling that I’ve ever been able to get to grips with

@SnufflebeanYarn18 күн бұрын
You will end up with more of a diamond shape if you use just stockinette stitch because the stitches are taller than they are wide. I came up with a happy compromise with this other blanket: How to Knit a Striped Diagonal Baby Blanket kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4eaiomGoNWVaMk

Keep going and as long as you’re following the pattern correctly the ribbing will become evident after a bit more knitting.

Just need to finish stitching the top garter stitch border and then that's blanket number 7 I've knitted. I would never have got through this many blankets without your inspiration. Not only am I using up a lot of yarn but I'm also making a lot of small balls to use in a crochet scrappy blanket that I'm slowly making.
