That is fascinating. Kindly tell me the contents of the covered wagons not with windows
@subadventures4 ай бұрын
The passengers’ automobiles are in the auto carriers. (Cars without windows) The train is non-stop between Virginia and Florida. The concept is to skip the congested highways traveling to and from Florida.

Hello, There are so many locomotives on this train, and plus one in the middle. Is it common to see petrol wagons mixed with other freights?
@subadventures9 ай бұрын
Yes it is very common for tank cars to be mixed in with general freight in the US. They can can carry a wide array of different chemicals.

Had to be for a photo shoot. That NS locomotive is way too clean. Why does Amtrak need ballast cars? They don’t maintain any track. And one last question, are those solar panels on the side of some of those cars and what are they for?
@subadventures Жыл бұрын
Amtrak does own track in Michigan and the entire Northeast Corridor. The NS engine was a recent overhauled engine. Yes those are solar panels, and they power the electric hydraulic pump to open and close the doors to dump the ballast.
@Mike-uw4wn Жыл бұрын
Was this today? If so, I caught the very same ballast train, with NS 4512 and 2 Amtrak Dash 8s in Ypsilanti Michigan on 11/9!

Amtrack speed is very slow compared to Indian trains 🚆
@joshuametzl14202 жыл бұрын
They have to go slow on this curve because of the turn, any faster and they would risk derailing into the valley or the mountain, this stretch of track is notorious for doing that.
