@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104
@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104 Жыл бұрын
Scaler ,vector potentials are very much in use in ED when time varying E,B fields are present. They are used in calculating lagrangian in classical mechanics and in some cases quantum mechanics too. When you have electromagnetic field propagation then retarded potential come into playm such as propagation of sunlight from sun to earth with a delay, in propagation of waves etc.

hello sir i hv completed my msc in physics this year recently preparing for upsc geoscientist exam going to held on feb 2022 i hv started watching your lecture on geophysics please give some tips for cracking this exam waiting for your reply ssirr plz
@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104
@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104 3 жыл бұрын
For cracking the exam especially you need to concentrate on Electromagnetism which has common in physics and geophysics part. I think you can follow my lectures to have an understanding. As you are from physics background your physics base must be strong and should have clear understanding on QM, Solidstate classical etc.. In addition to that you can read from lowry ,dobrin for geophysics and also follow some of my geophysics lecture which I have posted already. Best of luck for your future endeavour

What is terrain correction?
@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104
@physicsgeophysicslearningw6104 3 жыл бұрын
The correction is applied to remove the effect of topographical variation in a mountain /hilly area/valley area. This correction is always positive in a mountain or valley area. You can see the figure presented in my lecture for better clarification of this correction.
