How do the washers help? I think this will fix my problem just not sure how that works…
@4.8Flatbed22 күн бұрын
The washers make it so the stoppers stick out a little more because they can no longer thread 100% in. So the the rubber prices are pressing against the hatch morr firmly
@deegaw112 ай бұрын
That’s exactly what I did to try and get the stud out but it didn’t work it ended up stripping the threads. My XJ has a small lift and it has a small vibration only when I accelerate. It has all new fluids and ujoints so I was seeing if a tc drop might get rid of it.

Wish I knew this in the past. Owner numerous 97+ xjs and my current one is the worst regarding the door buttons. I took apart the latch and built up tack welds where the button depressed slowing it to fully open. Can't believe I looked over any factory adjustment 🤣
@SoberNomad8 ай бұрын
Where is your driveshaft? I have a 92 XJ and I can only get about 1/2” of swing because the drive shaft is about 3” directly below the handbrake cable.

Nicely done, so when I go to Lowe's what do I ask for?. If I ask for a flange they're going to take me to the toilet section.

I used the Long 1/2. Bolts and 3/4 nuts for spacers. The nuts were a lot stronger than just using pipe
@larryjanson4011 Жыл бұрын
should have used 2X1 thick wall tube and 3X1 1/4 wall angle. the tube length wise for the one in drop, the angle welded to the tube for side bolting onto the frame. all this way to prevent side ways tippling and a very strong support for sliding over the rocks. those pipes and all that open area is going to bend and break those bolts. plus thin wall... really.
@Rob_P80 Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your input and I agree. It's not sliding over any rocks here in Missouri. Lol SYE coming very soon

I noticed my driver rear door was being much more stubborn than the rest to open, this fixed it and now opens like the rest of my doors. Thank you so much! The Allen bolts looked like they’ve never been touched since the Jeep was built 23 years ago, so if you own an XJ fix this before it fixes you!!

Thanks for sharing! How would I find the creek area you were exploring at the end? Headed to ToT in the Jeep this weekend for some camping.
@Rob_P802 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, you turn into ToT from Moccisan Rd and 177. It's right off of 177. It's like a gravel like lot at the road intersection. You'll see the bluffs. Very hard to miss.

Cool timing to catch this one. I just got back from a decent test drive myself. I just got a 2006 F150 that has sat parked for roughly 4 years. It only has 15,300 miles. Changed the fuel filter gassed her up and took off. There’s a little more to do because it has a very slight rough idle and is sluggish when you put it to the floor but great otherwise.

@Rob_P802 жыл бұрын
That's what I was going for. The least "modded" I can add. I dont want the XJ to look like every other lifted cherokee with all the same parts. Trying to keep it stock looking but just beef it up a bit. It's more of a restoration than anything for the most part.
@dirtynewschannel2 жыл бұрын
@@Rob_P80 What?! Your not going to squat that Jeep? 🤣 I’m not much on all the over rated mods and lift/suspension kits either. Shits pretty much useless anyway unless you’re driving through the swamp every day. Plus it’s what everyone else is doing.
@Rob_P802 жыл бұрын
@@dirtynewschannel I bought it for me and Luke to hit some light trails. No need for lockers and fender armor. He cant even get in it with a 2 inch lift on it so i wont go much higher for a few years. Haha
