Hi, thanks so much... Just set this up and it's great fun, loving being able to quantize the midi on the go and get tight loops.... Is there a way to midi map drambos record button and clip slots? I'm trying (and failing) to midi map to a midi controller. (Have successfully mapped a filter cutoff of an instrument to a dial, but seems I can't midi trigger a midi app? Thanks

Drambo has extensive midi learn for its functions and interface. If you are trying to midi learn things inside Drambo, send the midi to Drambo and use its midi learn . You might want ask for help about that in the Loopy Pro forum or in the Drambo forum.

I see from a sneek peek, the loopy midi will have a quantize option... Really hoping it can be applied as a percentage not just fully locked to grid,

Retrospective recording might be one of the most interesting features of LP, never seen on hardware ... Yet now indispensable for me. Multiply/divide also. I wanted to talk to you about something : using a combo of too clips to easily record and multiply in an automatic way into a single clip. The first clip1 records-->overdub-->merge/move to clip2. This allows a simple and effective implementation of dynamic timing, with only two switches. Side note : i really appreciate the music in your tutorials. 🙌
@espiegel1235 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. Can you say more about the combo clips idea? Is this a technique you have worked out or a feature you would like to see added to the layout?

@@espiegel123 Hi, deegio2 speaking again (from my pro account) So indeed, this is the way i configured how I record on my projects. See I've been looping for 15 years now, and always encountered the same problem : how can you better your workflow with a minimum of buttons pressed yet still achieving a complex loop? (I could record a video of my session if you want) And maybe my explanation was a bit unclear. I set a first clip/loop to 'record', then 'overdub', then when the second overdub is finished it automatically 'merge/move' the first clip right into a second clip (of the same color). The clip number 2 now is set to 1 bar (clip number one is now empty again). Then, if you record again on the first clip, but more than 1 bar, the merge/move option will automatically multiply to the greater length, so the point is to always record in the first clip (like a buffer, and this buffer is unloaded each time in clip number 2 with no more than one button). Beauty of the setup is two things : if you record a shorter loop in the clip1 buffer it will also go the other way around and you can record less than one bar that will also be multiplied, the other is that if you record directly in clip 2, you can overdub more music not multiplied on the fly like normal. Now, let's take a musical example. Let's assume i recorded a simple bar of shaker. But i want to insert a snare that is gonna take 2 bars, and a series of kicks that's 4 bars total. I will record the clip1 with the shakers (that goes directly in clip2), then record again in clip1 my 2 bar snare, then record again clip1 with the kicks, and boom ! I now have a drumtrack. I can then add a 16 bar bassline on top, then a 8 bar chord progression .... So on and so forth. I think LP already has a lot of features to go around, there are very specific things that are difficult to achieve, but most of the times one can find workarounds. (Thank to one of your latest tutorials, I recently understood the power of radio/preset widgets to 128 to assign a very complex macro on a single fader on a midi controller for instance... I was stuck not finding how to assign on/off CC values to a simple slider widget like "when the slider hits 0, switch off the FX plugin" like turnado does for instance) So thank you for your time and efforts.

This project does not use the maximum record time. You can increase the record time in this project by editing the load action widget and increasing the number of bars.for my use 1 minute was as much as I needed. How long do you want it?
@musicman4christjesus8 ай бұрын
@espiegel123 I think BIAS FX2 has it at max 5 minutes and once you reach the 5 minutes it restarts and overwrites the previous 5 minutes. I wonder if there's functionality like that in Loopy Pro.

If you aren't sure what command that button is set to do, look in Control Settings and look in each active profile, in one of the active profiles, you will see the MIDI binding for that pedal. If you aren't sure what button 3 is sending use a MIDI Monitor. Some general MIDI troubleshooting tips are found at: wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=loopy_pro:midi_troubleshooting

can i use nano studio 2 as midi sequencer in Loopy?
@espiegel12310 ай бұрын
NS2 is a standalone app. So it can’t run inside another app. If runs parallel to another app and can send its output and midi out. Since NanoStudio’s playhead can’t be reset or moved from another app, it would be pretty frustrating, imo, to use for midi sequencing parallel to loopy pro.

There was a no rule about where to place it. It depends on the sound you want. In this case, input volume to the amp affects the tone…which I didn’t want, so I put it after the amp.
