They are pieces that some schools perform in koto competitions. Only that mostly schools use another wind instrument to accompany the piece. I released it in Nico nico but in yt there are also pieces that touch on schools

Comencé a ver este anime solo porque me gustan los de aventuras escolares, ooohhh Dios pero qué hallazgo! para el episodio 5 ya estaba totalmente clavado con los personajes, y cada que tocan juntos se me eriza la piel, pero para cuando tocaron este tema no pude evitar soltar unas lágrimas. Quisiera olvidarla por completo sólo para volver a experimentar escuchar este tema por primera vez.

Just done watching season 2, and when they started playing this one I was so glad that they didn't edited this performance. It was always interesting to listen for those performances of any school, but those cuts to the story bits were really intrusive. And it was so awesome to listen for this one without any stops. Can't say that it's the best anime I ever saw, but it was totally one of the memorable.

I think if I remember the sound correctly that the final note she plays in Tenkyuu is also the note she played for her mother after her father passed that got her mother to smile and be proud of her daughter.
