DO IT DO IT DO IT

To over simplify it, makeup products are pressed into pans so “hitting pan” means to use enough of your product that you see the metal or plastic pan that the power or cream product is pressed in to. So when you have completely “panned” a product it means that you have used it up completely. Not all products are pressed in a pan so the term has grown to broadly encompass liquid, loose or tubed products that you want to use up. So Project Panning is essentially a self-tun challenge where someone tries to entirely use, or partially use makeup or body/skincare products.

I have come to accept that I will never understand what is said in the first 5 seconds of the video 😂 but the rest is good for me!! I typically increase playback speed for videos, so I’m used to faster talking speed, but it can also be decreased if need be which is great

I know 😂 my brain literally can’t process any slower. When I play back in editing I think I’m talking too slow but I’m obviously not because I hear all the time that I talk too fast. It’s just the way I am, I guess.

10 uses per month is definitely going to be a stretch for me. I’m so out of the habit of using eyeshadow..I usually just wear my bronzer on my eyes lol. I’m excited to see how I do

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m feeling really confident overall with my project this year. I think I found the right mix of short and long term products to keep me engaged and excited! I’m really interested in trying a pan that palette! I’m debating if I want to do a smaller goal one for the last 6 months of the year or just wait until 2025 and hit the ground running. I can’t imagine working on a 40-pan though, great job on your end!

@@meganbeauty15 I started this palette half way through last year, just to see if I liked it. I think it's better to just start when you're excited about it than to wait for the new year.

That’s a great point. I’m thinking I might do a smaller palette for the last few months, then restart the year with a bigger one. I’m not sure though. I’ve also thought about doing a “no pan left behind” roulette style where I randomly select 5 shadows to work on. I’m not entirely sure what I want to do, but I know I want to do something!

@@meganbeauty15 I come up with what projects I want to do baste on my collection goals. Do I want to focus on my oldest stuff? Pan that Palette. Do I want to use everything? Project 10 uses, or no pan left behind. Or even Project Level Up if I want something in between. But whatever you chose I'm sure it will be great. 👍🏻

I love that you’re making progress! This year I’m doing quarterly empties. I can’t handle keeping track of empties for the year..maybe next year though? I’m making quarterly updates with all my empties-makeup, haircare, body care, and skincare. Seeing the number of empties and updating my spreadsheets has been so fun and reassuring.

All good! I probably didn’t explain it well. I’m doing laser on my legs (which I didn’t think about this project when I started treatment) and I can’t use self tanner during treatment! So I have to wait until I’m finished with my treatment before I can use it again, since they specifically tell you to avoid sun tanning or self tanning during treatment. I hope that makes more sense! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Then, as I think k I mentioned, there really isn’t enough product to sufficiently cover one leg/my arms. Since it’s a tanning lotion and my skin is noticeably darker when I use it, I don’t want to put it on one part of my body and not the rest, but I’m hesitant to try to cut it with another lotion because it’s one of those “wet skin” moisturizers that is unbearably sticky if it’s applied to dry skin, but regular lotion gets slimy if you put it on wet skin. It’s not a huge dilemma, but it’s my thought process as I’m trying to work on this project. I hope that makes more sense! Haha

😂😂 yeah, I always do. I’ve always been told I generally talk pretty fast. I should probably try to slow that down a little bit lol. That’s what I tell myself too, if it works and doesn’t smell funky, it’s still good! It’s okay until it isn’t haha

Thank you! The glass is opaque! I’ve tried all the angles with my flashlight. The shape of the bottle and the fact that the product doesn’t settle, the flashlight trick doesn’t work. When I last tried it, I thought I was still pretty full, but someone suggested sticking a toothpick in the bottle so I let it all settle for a couple days and stuck a toothpick in the bottle-it’s almost empty! I never would’ve known. I use the flashlight trick for everything for else though!

I SWEAR it was new when I rolled it in. 😂😂 I haven’t tried the glowscreen, I’ve thought about it, but I actually found a sunscreen from Naturium that I think I like more. It’s definitely Dewy, so if you have oily skin it may not be great, but it’s SPF50. It’s less expensive and I prefer the consistency, so I’m looking forward to finishing my unseen sunscreen so I can use that again!

I’m fortunate enough to live in a place where spiders and bugs aren’t really an issue! We usually get the yard treated and that sets a perimeter. Obviously every once in a while someone gets in, but we get them as they come along, it hasn’t really been a cleaning issue for us.

It’s a gorgeous blush, but you don’t need much because of the pigment. Fingers crossed we don’t drive ourselves crazy! 😂

I alternate between usage goals and actual pan goals. I needed some long haul products though so I figured I’d make myself work for it a little. I’m genuinely so shocked I hit pan so soon in the project!

Yes I am also working on a project pan - I have a list of 24 products (10 makeup and 14 beauty products) and want to finish these until end of the year. I am so hyped because I already managed to pan a lot of it until now 😍 And it’s so nice to see the progress of others as well!

I love to hear it! I also have a non-makeup project pan where I’m working on skincare, haircare, and body products. I’ve never tried a project like that before but it’s been fun so far!
