I have one from a big box store. How do I know if it’s ready to repot or happy where it is? There is some crisping of leaves but also new growth. I’ve had it for 3 days. 😊

Do you have to pull the WIC up into the soil? I’m worried it won’t be close enough to the route to drop water. I think there’s going to be an inch or two of soil between the roots and the wick.
indoorgardening.com/indoor-plant-care/fertilizing-indoor-plants/ These plants are epaphytic so they grow on trees or other plants and absorb nutrients through their foliage or aerial roots not through roots in soil like terrestrial plants. A foliar spray is a fertilizer sprayed directly on the foliage. They are usually marketed to orchids and are known as an orchid spray or orchid fertilizer. The truth is this type of fertilizer would be great for any of these epaphytic plants. It can also be used with other soil fertilizers like in the case of Hoya. the foliar spray is often used to encourage blooming for Hoya in addition to fertilizing normally. 🪴More on indoorgardening.com #houseplants #PlantTok #plantcare #orchid #fern #fertilizer #orchidfood #foliarspray #epaphytic #Hoya #tropicalcactus #Peperomia #dischidia #antherium #houseplantsoftiktok

Your plants will stretch out (etiolate) searching for light if they dont recieve enough. Once your plants stretch out those leaves will stay that way for their life. However if you give it better light then the new leaves should come in just fine. there are plenty of articles and videos out there talking about no light plants and all plants need light. We do have other videos on types of light and grow lights if you need more information. When you repot your plants some are bound to not like the move. Some will look sad and droop for 24hrs- 1 week. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Some things you can do to ensure such are: -make sure to water appropriately. if it was already overwatered then don't or if it was in need of water be sure to give it a good soak. -provide extra humidity as needed. plants with thin leaves like Peperomia or Philodendron can benefit from a higher humidity after a repot so they can recover more quickly more on indoorgardening.com indoorgardening.com/how-to-repot-indoor-plants-a-guide/ #houseplants #indoorgardening #plantproblems #repotting #indoorplant #plantcare #planttok #Philodendron #monstera #pothos #Peperomia #Hoya #ferns #diffenbachia

Soil Mix is one of the most common reasons why calathea rot. There is a lot of advice to not let calathea dry out but then people are confused to see their plants rotting due to being watered constantly. It's because the soil mix is to dense. They need a forest floor mix of bark, moss, burned forest remnants, rocks and all the normal things found in a forest. Something to break up the soil and allow airflow to the roots. indoorgardening.com/how-to-grow-and-care-for-calathea-plants/ #houseplants #indoorgarden #calathea #prayerplant #plantcare #plantcareguide #indoorplants #indoorplantcare #planttok #tiktokplants #plantsoftiktok

Fertilizer is often refered to as plant food but the real plant food is light. Through photosynthesis a plant will absorb light and process it to fuel many critical basic systems. To little light can cause stunted or elongated growth. Cause the plant to drop leaves and eventually the plant wont be able to survive anymore. Fertilizing a plant with to little light is useless because if they dont get enough light the functions to absorb and process the fertilizer will not work. What was the last plant that croaked on you? I had a begonia that I swear I did everything right for it and it must have really not liked my home because it melted away before my eyes. The cutting I took from it is a full thriving plant now though😂🤷♀️ Sometimes it really is a mystery when you do everything for a plant and it still doesn't make it. Plants can go dormant and not come back or can reach the end of the lifespan. Some plants are only supposed to survive a few years while others can live for centuries. Dead houseplants is completely normal and it happens to everyone. Sometimes it is not even one thing that causes it and it was just doomed from the start. 🪴We do have free housrplant care guides on indoorgardening.com if you need some plant help🪴indoorgardening.com/ #houseplants #begonia #fern #monstera #Diffenbachia #houseplantsoftiktok #PlantTok #cactus #plantcare #indoorgardening #indoorplant #indoorjungle
