The second trick is great because you have everything pre assembled and 2 bobbins filled. That way , when you sit down to sew it’s all ready to go. Also, breaking tasks up is helpful. My mother would tie it all up wrapped up in fabric selvage strip then the next day and attack the bundles another evening.

I have a color laser printer…. I’m thinking that I should not run freezer paper through this printer… I could draw the pattern on the paper first and then could I use a washable glue stick on the paper like I do on English Paper Piecing?

I’m very crafty as well as a quilter, so I have a rotary cutter for my fabric and have one for paper, cardboard and such. I put my old/used fabric rotary blades in a large medicine bottle and use those blades for paper, cardboard and such. When that blade is totally warn out I put a piece of washi tape over it and put it on the bottom of that medicine bottle.
