What if my back pattern doesn't have shoulder dart do I just trace out the yoke?

Oh thank you 🙏🏼 and what about back double vents ? How to cut and sew the lining ?
@qutfashionstudio576119 күн бұрын
The construction of a double vent would be the same as the single, but rather than using the centre back seams to put the vents into you would use a side back seam. Remember that the right and left back vents will be a mirror of each other so you will only have to do one side and then cut a pair of them. The centre back pleat will run down into a seam allowance at the base that replaces a centre back vent. We will not be making a video for double vents, so I hope this helps.

Having had problems with sewing lining to the hem on a jacket, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for explaining how it should or can be done. I am so happy now and can relax and enjoy the last parts of sewing together my project. Great tutorial xx

Thank you. Great video. Did you sew with the insert on top?
@qutfashionstudio576127 күн бұрын
I sewed the first half of the godet with the skirt panel n top and the second section with the godet on top.

Hello sir, does the lining have the same measurement as the pattern of the using fabric ?
@qutfashionstudio5761Ай бұрын
The lining is the same pattern shape as the outer fabric but is the same length as the front facing. In this example the hem is 4cm so the facing and lining length is 3cm shorter.

Would a 6-gore skirt made from silk satin be better cut on the bias or the straight grain?
@qutfashionstudio57613 ай бұрын
Usually, a bias skirt only has a front and a back to keep seams to a minimum, so I wouldn't suggest it.

Thank you so much for this video series. I bought a jacket sewing pattern that's been the most confusing thing ever so I'd like to try a second muslin by following these directions instead. I've learned so much already so I appreciate it

It may be interesting to apply the same to the shoulder seam: as a micto yoke with gathers at the same level as the sleeve.

@angepriscadeanzo1

If you have a back yoke AND a back yoke area pleat~ how do we best accommodate the pleat volume? Thank you for your helpful videos!
@qutfashionstudio57615 ай бұрын
I think I would work backwards adding the pleat value onto the centre back of the pattern and then making sure the top and the hem of the pattern are at right angles so when the piece is cut out on the fold the top and hem are straight lines.

Great video, this is so helpful! However, what f you want to keep the darts? I'm not a huge fan of flat back waists...
@qutfashionstudio57616 ай бұрын
I would suggest keeping one of the back darts for tweaking the fit. If you would like an A-line look, but with good fit, you could try a gored pattern.
