A great help, thank you. At first I was worried that the video was 6 years old as I'd installed the latest version 23.1. Turns out version 23.1 is rubbish - crashes at the PLL step. On checking, my customer is still on version 18 for stability, so I've gone back to that, and find this video to work well with that version.

The PLL wizard fails now with a windows 10 installation.

Seems to be a known problem in version 23. I've gone back to version 18 because that's what my customer uses. PLL works well in that.

Excellent tutorial, with unprecedented clarity. Other tutorials went through too much theories which only confuse the viewers.

Definitely the best tutorial for beginners! Far better than any other tutorials all combined together. By the way, any plan for tutorials on Nios II?

Great tutorial! This got me going with Max 10 dev kit. Without this tutorial, I think that I couldn't get this far. It would be very nice if you can make the next tutorial with Nois processor and more details of writing sdc file.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. I hadn't touched an FPGA for over 20 years, so this was brilliant for getting me up to speed with modern software. I have four happy blinking LEDs on my Cyclone IV board now. Cheers!!

Have looked at this presentation now 3 times. Again outstanding. far better than anything else out there. The only thing unclear is when/and how to use the "Inst" terms within the devices.
@monahanz6 жыл бұрын
Fantastic introduction! Except for one major problem. With Quartus Prime (Lite) V18.0, the "Cyclone 10P" listed for the "Family, Device, Board Settings". All you see is Cyclone IV E and Cyclone GX in the Device Family dropdown box. Numerous names below but I cannot find one that is programmable at the end -- very frustrating as I only find out at the end. The chip label is "10CL025YU25617G" on my board. Anybody got an answer? What device do you use for your Cyclone IV on the "Intel Cyclone 10 LP Evaluation Board"
@monahanz6 жыл бұрын
Answer my own question. I did not include "Cyclone IV device support" in the initial download. Uninstalled and reinstalled (2 hours later! it worked).

In previous versions, the pin assignments used to show up on the schematic.Did they change that for this version?
