OZZY OSBOURNE: THURSDAY MARCH 18TH 1982: RANDY RHOADS LAST SHOW AT THE KNOXVILLE CIVIC COLISEUM: DIARY OF A MADMAN TOUR: Upon entering the coliseum after buying my tour shirt and ticket 🎫 stub processing: I noticed the stage was set up like a medieval castle with arches and bats 🦇 flying around the top of them. There was a staircase leading up to Tommy Aldridge’s Drumkit. The top left of Tommy was where Donny Airey’s keyboards were set up. Stage right and left had to cages with which Randy Rhoads would appear from the floor stage right and Rudy Sarzo stage left. OZZY had a throne of which he would appear out of to start the show to Over the Mountain. Tommy had his drum tech dressed as an Executioner stand beside his kit with his arms crossed. The staircase had a small section that would open and a small dwarf named: Ronnie (after Ronnie James Dio the new singer for Black Sabbath-replacing OZZY) and hand OZZY towels and water between songs. Little did we all know that later in the show: the executioner would bring the dwarf out to be hung from the rafters and later he would cut off his head using a guillotine! At the end of the show OZZY climbed onto a giant mechanical hand that OZZY stood on top of and launched unspecified meat 🥩 🍖 into the audience! Of course it was all an a theatrical act as the dwarf appeared to take a bow with OZZY and the band. When OZZY smiled we noticed he put vampire 🧛♀️ teeth in! We laughed hard! I went to the show with my friend Richard and his older brother Greg who was 18 at the time. We were 13. Greatest show on earth! Richard and I were both terrified and thrilled at what we witnessed! Unfortunately the next morning all that excitement and energy was gone as we learned that Randy Rhoads perished in a plane crash in Florida. Richard and I played drums but Greg played guitar 🎸 and he definitely took it the hardest! One of the greatest guitarist of our generation and had just won the new guitarist of the year by Guitar Player magazine. Rest In Peace Randy Rhoads your music lives on! Sincerely, Gary Lagstrom

yes, nothing is more rock-n-roll than this band..., they write their own songs, come up with deep lyrics, and they really rock.... SAD

I’ve seen the band over 100 times but i can’t anymore- separating from Boyd is their choice but to leave that void in the sound of the band this long now, i can’t watch anymore. Some of my favorite moments were the ants marching solos and lie in our grave solos from Boyd- they transported you, but not anymore. Always will love DMB but until the strings are brought back I will just have to live on the past of amazing memories!

@@RoastedBeansTires i listen to old shows now and largely can’t stand Boyd. I like the parts but the playing is awful.

It was different when he left. He deserves one of the awards. The extra one was probably for Stefan but Boyd was there and helped build this band.

Where’s Butch and Boyd? Two of the original members! thats fucked up!
@deepwaterlife4814 күн бұрын
i was wondering if butch taylor would be included, it seems he wasnt. he wasnt an original member but he was an important member on some of the earlier albums. he has also popped up randomly on other albums. on the other hand, boyd had sexual deviancy issues. pete griesar who dave mentions left because of health problems of his mother very early in the band's history. right around the time of the remember two things album. the lovely ladies and tawatha agee have been performing since the late 1970's so it makes sense that they only pop up very rarely now. they are getting up there. jeff coffin was originally a member of bela fleck and the flecktones.

What a disservice. This speech was embarrassing and low key disrespectful. They deserve SO MUCH better than this intro. 😭🥴🤦🏼♀️🤬
@ST-wo3uw14 күн бұрын
The googling part was especially cringe 🥴 I agree the speech should've been so much better to honor Dave and what legends all involved in DMB truly are.

She should’ve mentioned Bama Works and how much they’ve raised over the years, their long time devotion to charities, causes, environmental conservation, Farm Aid, etc. An enduring part of their legacy.
