@@jdotmetcalf but you haven't even established the existence of the god that you claim we need forgiveness from, nor have you established any mechanism for the inheritance of guilt or the transference of it to another so that it can be removed from you. None of the other cultures around the world believe that guilt can be inherited in this way. Perhaps this is why your religion is dying.

No other culture deals with sin and has a clear redemption plan, the fact that Jesus (God) wrapped himself in human flesh, died, and rose, paying the penalty for sin and re-bridging the gap between God and humanity sets Jesus apart from everyone else. Oh, and him claiming to be GOD distinguishes him too. (Jn 8:58) And what's interesting, is that all other major world cultures/religions point to Jesus as reliable and that we should listen to his teachings, and Jesus himself claims that he is the ONLY way. (Jn 14:6) But you're right, we cannot ESTABLISH as fact that this is all a true factual system, but at the end of the day: The axis of which our belief spins is predicated on either Jesus rose from the dead or he didn't, and all of the supporting findings, supporting facts, and historical context point to that he did. But, I guess to your point, there is still FAITH involved, and so by definition, sure - that technically leaves the oppertunity that we could be wrong! And if so, we are in fact to be a pitied people with a "dying religion" (1 Cor. 15:9) lol. But, if I'm wrong, I'll have thrown away a life time. If you're wrong, you'll have thrown away an eternity. Hey. I’d be honored to explain this to you today. So In the beginning, satan used to be an angel of God, however, became arrogant and selfishly ambitious; full of greed and wanted to be God himself. So God kicked him out and he fell from heaven, to govern the world. He tries to drag people like you and I down to hell by offering the things and pleasures of this world instead of trusting in God and believing that Jesus died for US. Satan wants us to suffer. He wants us to turn away from God because he is jealous and hates God. But in the end, God will triumph. And that is what Judgement Day is. Where The Trinity comes to defeat all evil, once and for all. Now we don’t know when it will happen, but we need to always be on watch since it will happen at a time we least expect it.
