I love the quote from one of his schoolteachers. "You're an artist Johnny." She knew.

He comes up with some beautiful melodies and jangly guitar lines, kinda early Peter Buck on the Rickenbacker, but 100% JM. A one off muso.

One of my favorite Marr songs - nostalgic and personal, things he tends to avoid. The world is just a better place with this man and his music in it.

haha it's Angie Marr they've been togther since they were 15 years old! Although I've read somewhere they actually had broken up, but then got back together and married. He talks about it in his autobiography and it's actually so cute,

I've followed David's work since the 90s and been fortunate enough to meet him (fleetingly) on several occasions when I've seen him performing. He's polite, fascinating and truly unique, The world is a better place with him in it. A beautiful soul x

For a noted guitar hero, Johnny Marr is no technical monster. But he has the gift all great pop musicians must have: He can find the RIGHT notes for the song at that instant, and play them convincingly. Sounds simple, but it isn't. At one point he was in Hans Zimmer's live ensemble, playing right alongside fusion MF'er Guthrie Govan. Guthrie's job was to play anything and everything Hans could imagine - and he can do that, the guy's an absolute monster. Johnny's job was to play like Johnny Marr.

It's too compressed!... Sonic Youth wouldn't have finished their first tour with so much compression (stupid sentence I know). The harmonics are in fact locked in.... A group like Boogarins has been able to find a good compromise between its "Pop" and sound depth. The latest album from "The Orielles" is a gem! Another current group whose genius I had perceived from the first album. - like "Boogarins", "The Murder Capital" and the new French "Big Wool" -
