One of my great regrets was that Hank Thompson played at an event at the junior college near my home in the early 1990's in OKC. I didn't go see him and as a result never got to. Talk about a remarkable talent, let alone all of his other accomplishments. RIP Hank, sorry I missed you.

How can Thom talk and play like this at the same time? I met Chet once while he played in a restaruant in Nashville (before the nasvville hype). He playes complex time signatures and melodies and can talk at the same time. Prog rockers have no idea (actually they do) that Bach lived in our time.

Your voice is wonderful and you've been singing for a lot of years and I've been listening to you. I'm 73 years old. I started listening when I was quite young about my first record when I was twelveand I used to have a massive record collection till my son and daughter-in-law decided. They sell them all out from underneath me, but anyway, I'm gonna start collecting again. You're wonderful and so many other country. Artists are wonderful. There's a lot of kinds of music. That I like most of them except for opera

We don't have wonderful programs like this anymore. And more people should watch this so they know what quality is.

I had the pleasure of watc😂hing Hank Thompson back in 1964 or 1965 on local TV from Fort Worth. His voice was something. The Brazos Valley Boys were wearing Falstaff Beer shirts. Thx for the memories. 2:40

I liked Chet when he played real country tunes........kind of like early in his career. But it seems like when he got into his 50's and was a guest on a country music show in the 70's, he would play something slow that I didn't like (and still don't), like Mr. Bo Jangles. I would rather have heard him tear into Blue Smoke or the Nine Pound Hammer or I Am A Pilgrim.

This must be on the Johnny Carson show which you don't find out until later. But Doc Severinsen is on trumpet and Tommy (forgot last name) on the clarinet (assuming all but Leon are members of the Tonight Show band.) Would be nice to have a date of broadcast but it looks to be 1986, 1987, or 1988.
