What gets me is that people will queue up and wait for an hour or more just to see an old but historic steam engine speed past them and they glimpse it for a couple of seconds? and it's being assisted in the rear by a diesel engine. Pointless.

I remember watching a documentary in which they told doctors believed it could be dangerous for people to travel at these speeds because the human body was only designed to travel at walking / biking speeds :p I guess doctor's werent aware of physics back then.

It is there to provide shunting of coaching stock at Salisbury while the steam loco is serviced and turned. It is not there to assist the steam locomotive unless it is in difficulty 👍
