I watched the series "The Film Generation" avidly while in high school. It stirred in me a continuing delight in film - and introduced me to Vivaldi's "Winter" from the Four Seasons.

Is this about GO or the producer? Focus on one thing, not both, or at least re-title the vid.

Making the audience understand the work of the artist in question is the key thing. Using humor to do it is a good answer.

What is the song that plays at the very beginning of this film? It sounds like it’s sung by Edith Piaf. I’ve been trying to track it down for so long, but can’t find it anywhere. 😞

I never heard of Perry Miller Adato until this video. Wow! What a beautiful woman! And she was 93 at the time of this video!! She would live for five more years, passing away at the tender age of 98. Now I'm curious to know more about her, just as my curiosity about Gertrude Stein propels me to learn more about her....

One of the greatest documentaries on Picasso. The quotes, narration, interviews, visuals, and storyline. I love everything about it. The Guernica section is extremely dramatic.

My AUNT IS Georgia O'Keeffe, there have been so many lies! I was in US Congressional campaign to replace Physician Larry MacDonald US House Rep who "supposedly" went down 007 KAL Aug 31, '83. I learned my real name I'd Margaret Windsor, daughter of King Edward VIII and Queen Claudia O'Keeffe of Madison, Wisc school teacher youngest child of O'Keeffe. You won't find photo of my mom Claudia who was married in church England unlike history tells my father refused follow "orders" handed down by Illuminati (President Franklin, Rockefellers-Rothschilds-Bilderburgers-Kennedy clsn-my uncle George illegal VI Monarch who did take orders from NOE Global Gov. * double/imposter wed American Spy Wallis Simpson. My dad Real King Edward VIII was married to Claudia always and still alive '86. King was removed by Character Assassination! That exist today as I speak/type/of course Elizabeth has always known! She is a traitor/war criminal. Also Juan Hamilton who was caretaker signed a will/not Georgia giving guardian-to Juan. The O'Keeffe family attempted to rescue. unsuccessfully! For me to hear Jysn Hamilton's name associated with my sung Georgia sickens me. I so hope that soon History tells truth!?

I really hope to be able to see this film one day. Getting to see two of my favourite artists (Helen Frankenthaler and Friedel Dzubas) chat about her work, watching her create a painting, as well as learn more about her journey as an artist up to that point...incredible.

This is truly a beautiful and important documentary. I own the DVD and have watched it numerous times as it is so rich with detail. With each viewing I discover new aspects about this special time period. There is one incidental question I have regarding a wonderful piano instrumental used in the documentary (at 3:13, directly after Mistinguett's "J'suis Nature" song), I have searched to discover the composer to no avail. Would love to know the title of this composition, thanks!
