15:58 Edie McClurg does the exact same thing Roger E. Mosley did two years ago.
@zachhoran7 күн бұрын
The first part of the show comes from a rerun from around that point in 1991. From Oct 1988-late 1991, the reruns of $25K Pyramid USA airing were almost exactly four years old spanning Oct 1984-Dec 1987.

Did anyone else notice how the celebrities didn't walk out together like normal? And after the first segment they didn't walk to the winner's circle? I guess Bill Cullen was unable to walk on his own at that point?
@trevortuominen823312 күн бұрын
Cullen had polio, so his game shows throughout his career (as host and guest) had to be carefully staged to hide it.
@jaredjlinden11 күн бұрын
They’d always revise the staging of these shows when Bill Cullen was a guest (or a host) so he would only have to walk a few steps at a time on camera. You may know this, but he had polio as a child and was left with a severe limp, which he didn’t want to be shown on camera. When Bill hosted The Price is Right, that format didn’t feature much moving around for the host. And he wasn’t considered for the revival in the 70s because it was thought to be too physically taxing. When Bill hosted the 70s 25K Pyramid, you’d never see him walking to the winner’s circle, like Dick did. And when Bill appeared on Password Plus, the show would start with him in the guest seat or the host podium, not walking down the stairs with the host or the other guests.
@keith.wilson198111 күн бұрын
@@jaredjlinden wow! didn't know that about Bill. :( I never noticed that on Password Plus! Will have to watch for that if a clip comes up. He seemed to be such a nice man.

Those two celebrities were guests on the series finale of The $20,000 Pyramid aird on ABC aired June 27, 1980. The finale was the original series after 7 years started as The $10,000 Pyramid on CBS, moved to ABC in 1974, and jumped to $20,000 in early 1976.

Notice the unusual intro of the special guests already seated with the contestants. This was likely due to Bill Cullen's inability to walk smoothly. God love him.
@chrisarseneault56172 ай бұрын
Same reason why if Cullen has to go to the winners circle. They cut away or commercial then hes already there.
@UrsusTheodorusdoesGameShowsАй бұрын
They always accommodated Bill Cullen on any show he was on. His inability to walk smoothly was from polio IIRC.
