Do you have any video of the dual cylinder trailer dumping? I’m looking to buy a 18 ft dump but they only make it in a dual cylinder and I’m worried about it not being strong though and me accidentally overloading the dual cylinder. I would much rather the front cylinder but i need an 18 foot. Thank you.

Just watched this out of curiosity due to my looking to purchase a 3/4ton for standard work. Friend walks behind me and says, why do you care, you're getting ready to take classes for a class A already because of the 7ton monster truck you bought through me and have sitting in my yard. I had him buy me a MTVR MK25 7ton and an M1095 5ton tandem trailer a few months ago and been destroying some of his acres driving it around and learning how it acts. 🤣

I'm a trailer tech for a large fleet. Used oil hubs at my last job but my current employer uses grease. Speaking purely from a maintenance and repair perspective, I hate the grease hubs. Takes at least twice the time to clean everything and it's a huge mess. Fluid hubs are much faster and easier to service. Pretrip inspection is more important but you should be doing that anyway. I'm looking right at you drivers.

Can you guys make a gooseneck dump trailer with a telescopic lift?
@lanceolot226 ай бұрын
Your suggestion of going with grease, is only relevant if you put low miles per year on your trailer. If you are a professional running 75,000-100,000 miles per year, you would need upwards of 10 or more grease changes on your grease hubs. If you are running oil bath hubs, change your oil every 40,000 miles, and you’re golden. You can also buy metal Valcrum oil hub caps, for better security against road damage to your oil hub caps.

All Dump Trucks are single telescopic for a reason and have 2 solid beams down the middle under the bed, prevents bed rippling. Don't load rock daily on these.

I had 2004 Bass Boat, the trailer had oil bath hubs. Traded it off in 2021 and never had to touch them . I routinely traveled from Wv . To North Carolina and Virginia

I've used both...I'd say it depends on the length of trailer and what you're doing with it. Anything longer than 24 feet, you want gooseneck otherwise it gets sketchy. A short trailer like a typical 14 foot dump works fine bumper pull. A gooseneck can be a pain to backup or turn into a tight spot because it turns wide. Backing a 24 foot gooseneck into a typical 20 foot wide driveway off a typical highway/road with a typical HD truck (or dually) is difficult...the turn is so wide you must go off road to place the trailer...almost have to do everything perfect for it to work...anything longer than that or if you can't go off the side the road, it is almost impossible and you need more room. Hooking up isn't horrible, but does take more time and stuff in the truck bed might be in the way...those little things kinda make it seem like a pain. Goosenecks can haul more because the load is on the truck axle, but the actual gooseneck weighs more so it's a wash when talking about up to 14,15, to 16k trailer people use (it becomes more important for larger, heavier trailers). The plus side of a gooseneck is you can turn around really sharp, but this is really rough on the tires. It does ride better, but honestly not as much as people make it out to be. If it's a rough road, nothing going to fix that. The plus side of bumper pull is it follows, backs up, and tracks with the truck better. Really easy to hook up and drop off, especially with a camera. Lower profile trailer with less weight. All your junk can stay in the bed. More readily available and cheaper to purchase...easier to resale. My 2 cents is a bumper pull is best for most people. If you're towing 14k+ LB on a 24+ foot trailer longer distances, you need gooseneck though...safety is not worth risking. Most people aren't pulling 24 foot+ trailers and if they are, they're light weight.

I'd never ever say that a bumper pull trailer is easier to tell in what way ever is it goosenecks always pull straighter and usually bounce around a whole lot less than a then a bumper pull they even made gooseneck trailers for VW bugs and you were able to turn all the way around and back the vehicle up with the trailer in front of it or vice versa super unusual situation but never came upon a trailer that was easier to tell than a gooseneck

Does this apply to pulling a travel trailer ? I've got friends that pull a huge travel trailer with a pickup and are probably over 26k pounts, but only have a regular license
@thud97974 ай бұрын
No, does not normally apply to recreational towing but check with your home state as there are some states beginning to issue a non-commercial Class A licenses.
@northwestnurserysales7927 ай бұрын
You didn't address the heavier weight of the gooseneck trailers. I have both and often used the bumper pulls because I can haul more weight and keep within my licensed limit.

Super annoying to hear people repeatedly say “twenty six thousand and one pounds” over and over, while holding up their index finger..😆🙄 Not to mention, it makes you incorrect. You state, “hauling OVER twenty six thousand and one pounds, absolutely need CDL.” This would technically imply that hauling EXACTLY 26,001 lbs would not need CDL, which would be dead wrong. A person just makes themselves sound silly saying it that way. Totally unnecessary also. The legal threshold is either up to 26,000 or over 26,000. Therefore, it’s pretty unnecessary to repeatedly say “twenty six thousand and one pounds…” Or the even sillier variant, “twenty six thousand and one pounds or above..” A person sounds like a child when they express it like that. What’s next? “Twenty six thousand and one and two and three and four..”🤦♂️ Just say it like an adult. “Anything over twenty six thousand pounds falls under the CDL category. Twenty six thousand pounds or less does not.” There. Concise, correct, and mature sounding.👍

Say I buy a manual dodge ram 3500 and tow a 40 foot trailer with it gvw more than 26k . Would I be allowed to operate that combination with a class a auto restricted license? I know you can drive that truck on its own without a cdl in general but does the combination make things different
@tonywoods668710 ай бұрын
I have driven dump trucks and semi truck with end dump trailer- both can be very sketchy dumping on uneven ground. That is why I chose to go with the dual cylinders- stability/ safety. The trailer I bought, which is a Texas Pride trailer, gooseneck, triple 7K axles, charges the batteries when plugged into the truck and, an extension cord can plug into the trailer to operate an onboard trickle charger. For those asking how to get one - go online to Texas Pride Trailers, request information and someone got back to me within a couple hours. I placed my order and received the trailer in four weeks!

I would say goosenecks are safer to load heavier with a 3/4 Ton than a bumper pull would be with the same truck.
