I bought 'THIS Isn't" chicken pieces today because sweet n sour chicken balls in batter is too tempting, hopefully these will end that chinese takeaway craving! Can't remember if they sold 'What the Cluck" but they had something from The Vegetarian Butcher next to it on the shelf but if it's this stuff I would definitely buy it as it looks like roast turkey which I used to make Doner Kebab with and the spices should add enough flavour to the spot on texture/chew. I tried Quorn mince, the smell made me yak whilst cooking instantly and it said egg whites in the ingredients anyway so it went straight in the bin. Annoying because 2/3 of the shelf is Quorn products but I make much better vegan mince from egg plant + oat flour + semolina anyway.

Iceland also sell washing up liquid.

If you're buying these because of the "protein" marketing you're being really mugged off and falling for one of the latest marketing techniques of putting the word protein on everything.....also noted they have palm fat in them....and I know they'll probably say it's "ethically and sustainability " resourced palm fat, don't believe it, deforesting areas often of great significance for natural echo systems just so they can source a slightly cheaper source of vegetable fat and costs really does contradict their "natural, pure, sourced from nature" general vibe ....🤷🏻‍♂️

Not gonna lie I'm not vegan paid £8 for two tiny pizzas that wasn't clearly labelled vegan and come on there horrible fair play to you vegans if this is what use have to eat

Truth about soya utube would delete so pointless me saying. It is a super man made hybrid tho. The packets are full of plastic from crude oil so avoid. The best milk and is super cheap is organic creamed coconut. Take some n out into a jug. Put a tiny amount of boiling water n mix till smooth. Then add water preferably clean distilled water. Its super cheap n makes loads.

Nice little comparison. So Alpro changed the format. The chilled is 750ml but the long life is still 1l. Lidl do own protein soya milk special buy in the centre from time to time - 1l for £1 so stock up. The reason why the caps all changed to be attached to the carton is so birds can't get their beak stuck in them (eg at landfill sites etc). That's why you should always cut the ring for the old l style pull out seals.

We know, what they taste like, they've been around for decades.Have you just discovered them.? They are not the best tasting meat free sausages. I prefer quorn or richmond, meat free sausages.🎉

Waaaaay back in 2006 I was on a vegan forum. We did care package exchanges, and mine had some Alpro. It was much nicer than anything they were making in the USA. Things have come so far since!

I'm going to buy some of the alpro milk you've recommended to encourage my non-vegan OH to ditch the cruel stuff. He only has dairy in his tea & coffee, & sometimes on cereal (he's already swapped to plant based cheese etc), so if this worked for him it could see the end of vile dairy in our fridge 🙏🌱🥰 (Interesting that you bought it for non-vegan visitors. How do friends usually respond to you only offering vegan products when they visit? That'd be the dream for me, but could only work if my OH went 100% plant-based.) I don't have particular favourites in terms of taste or texture but I don't take milk in hot drinks so don't have to worry about curdling etc. I currently buy Tesco unsweetened soya as it's so reasonably priced (also 50p), or the vermondo stuff you've featured, which I am so happy to see.

I agree with your summary and they are probably my favourite top 3 too. I buy the Lidl soya milk too as it's so cheap and good source of protein. I use it on cereal/porridge and to make shakes. A great all rounder. I don't use milk in hot drinks often but Oatly Batista is good and really like they do an organic version now as oats are extremely high in pesticide residue along with rice (I only buy organic oats and rice). Had the Alpro My Cuppa when it's been on offer and agree it just works in tea.

These were the same price, beyond was on discount by 1.50, and it is as moreish as a fast food chain burger and zero complaints BUT I miss having something that tastes like Birdseye meat burgers. Do the Richmond ones taste like Birdseye? Birdseye vegan burgers give me stomach ache and not great lol

Are you going to Vancouver? I find BA a hit and miss. Sometimes good, sometimes not so. Never had that sort of pastry. I flew BA during the first year of the pandemic and they completely stopped special meals. They did provide vegetarian meals but it was loaded with dairy. It's strange how the other airline on my codeshare flight was able to provide special meals with absolutely no problems and veganism isn't even a thing there.

Never flown BAcas a vegan but that looks pretty good food from them. I've always found Emirates good as a vegan. I agree and brilliant you get food first. Even before I was vegan I always selected one of the special meal options for this reason.

Hold is based in California. They have some very tasty products. The cream cheeze will keep for a few days if you put it in an insulated bag. I call it "Whole Paycheck". 😁

Make sure you try Tofurky Smoked Ham (red packaging). They didn't have it on wholefoods but I found it in local supermarket in Brooklyn - it's simply the best! 😋

In my local tesco if the sushi is about to run out of date that day they reduce it from about £6.50 to £4.50 or they will bin it ?

Yes, I fly with Easyjet 2 or 3 times a year, and have definitely noticed a slow, but steady improvement in vegan options. Also lots of stuff in airport shops now, including chocolate bars I've never seen anywhere else.
