Looking at the CPU utilization can be misleading, most of the time when the GPU is not 99% or very near that, it is very likely because the CPU is holding it back in some way, that can be because of how the game is optimized to utilize your bits. If you're curious about that then Daniel Owen has some good videos that explain this.

Did you try what i wrote in the beginning of the video about using cores 0, 2, 4 and 6, it helped a lot with getting more fps.

battlefield games have always been cpu heavy, so seeing the 5500 performing like this doesn't surprise me tbh, in 1440p the gpu usage is around 70% most of the time.

@@solarknot I play 1440p with a 12600k and my 4070 I bought yesterday and I was at 40-60fps at Monte Grappa with CPU and GPU usage at like 40%… really weird.. Didn’t even get more fps even though I put resolution scale at 20%. Something is seriously wrong

@@UWfalcin do you have dx12 on by chance, that thing is a nightmare in battlefield 1 and 5, you have to play a bit then the performance gets better. Also there's an in game fps limiter make sure the game hasn't enabled it for some weird reason, you can also look in nvcp maybe there's something weird going on after you installed new drivers for the 4070, i don't really have anymore ideas of what could be going on. ( if you have dx12 enabled and a 60 fps frame rate limit enabled in game then that could explain why it's going between 40 and 60 fps because the game is caching stuff and that causes stuttering in bf 1 and 5, with dx11 you won't have stuttering as much, the stuttering is temporary tho with dx12 and the more you run around and play the game the smoother it gets. )

@@Colea1872 nothing out of the ordinary, kept my pc up to date with everything that's about it. Okay so if you google "resident evil 2 no ray tracing" then there's a reddit thread that said something about it being removed last year for some reason. Some people also mentioned that it was on accident (don't know how that would happen) and that it would be fixed, you could look into that maybe it was never fixed or there is a fix for it somewhere.

no i haven't, but i would assume arma 2 would lag because at some points it does get the gpu to 99% even at 1080p ( i don't have the 3050 anymore so i cant really try either)

@@solarknot oh i see. Lol i have the game at 1080p with medium-high settings and my gpu is at 99% all the time. Though it seems to be the case with all games... or is it? i am ignorant about this

3080 does have better 4k performance, gamer nexus made a 4070 review where it was mostly the case.

@@solarknot yeah I just tested it, it works nicely but the game seems to be limited by something in a way. I thought it could be the cpu? I tested it with my max oc 9900KS / 3080 At 4K same settings as you (in Nassau) I'm getting 60fps by the sea, worst drops are 50-55 in the denser area. At 1440p 100 fps and drops to 95 in the foresty area. But weirdly gpu usage is still below 95%. I think it's an engine limitation. Setting AA to SMAA helps significantly

Actually, you made me look why my gpu was getting bottlenecked. I realize the game had been running on E-Cores only for quite some time now. Fixed it with Process Lasso and can confirm my 4070S is running 99% at around 180-230 fps

In multiplayer, my game drops below 60 fps and for some reason my gpu utilization drops in more intensive scenes with lots of players. It seems my Ryzen 7 5700x bottlenecks my 6800xt, but I have no idea why and it’s just this game. How did you fix yours?

@@turnip1744 Make sure you use Direct X12 so there is much less CPU bottleneck. Then use process lasso to assign the game High Priority Class and High I/O Priority. Make sure Steam / Epic Launcher doesn't have low Priority Class or make sure they're normal because somehow, the anti-cheat would copy the same low priority class or same CPU affinity as what the launchers were assigned. Also make sure none of those processes are running on Efficiency status. If that doesn't work, assign all the other background processes with CPU affinity 0-3 (depending how many cores you want for background tasks divided by 2 for hyperthreading). Then let the game have CPU 2-16 or 4-16 so only the game runs on those cores you assign. I didn't need to do the last two suggestions as my problem was stemming from my game being assigned by windows to run on my Efficiency Cores. All else fails, lower the timer that bodies stay on screen as they take more CPU power especially on 64-player Objective maps.

@@Sandfill I do not live in the USA, that thing is actually more cheaper than those you mentioned since everyone down here buy all of that stuff and 60 FPS is 60 FPS and i'm happy with that.

Well if your gpu is 50% that can only really be the cpu limiting it. 650w should be just about enough, 40 series cards don't require all that much anymore compared to 30 series cards. I'd say you need a better cpu but that would mean a new motherboard aswell. Or just play at 4k on your tv that's also a choice.

Also i don't know if you mean 50% efficiency psu because that would also not be great.

You could try and run games at higher resolution to see if the the wattage rises. Use DSR in your nvidia control panel or if you have a 4k tv use that.

60, this video wasn't meant to show something the game can't do, it was more so about the stability of what the parts can provide.

Sorry for the late reply, you could sell the 5500 probably won't get alot from it but it could help, where i live a brand new ryzen 7 5700x costs about 178eur and a ryzen 7 5800x costs 204eur, so if the prices are similar where you live, i'd go with the 5700x or 5800x and sell the 5500 to help cover the cost of it at least a little bit. If you mean my comment that i pinned then, it's more so an overall heads up, even in this game on 1440p as you probably saw GPU usage dropped into the 80% range at times, this is because ac games are more CPU heavy than most, the AI is what is the main cause for the heavy CPU usage. Also if 1440p is becoming more and more popular among people and this processor is having trouble running games at that resolution, then i consider it a good heads up ( most people don't play on 4k, 1080p is still the most used resolution ). sorry for the long reply, but i hope it explains something at least :)
