I’m do frustrated. I understand perfectly your instructions and I thank you. My issue is I have the mounds all over the place but using the probe and digging out I can’t find the tunnels underground so I cant use the cinch trap I just bought. Any suggestions appreciated

Enjoyed watching! I may have to start doing that with my digs! I found a few coins and old jewelry but there is so much iron it is hard to find stuff! I do a lot of raking after digging. Make more sense to just finish digging a small area and take my time filling it in making sure I’m not missing stuff.

So--if you are a hunter....don't reveal to anyone asking (precisely?) WHERE this is---or....you might not get shots, whether they be camera shots, or arrow shots or gunshots. Beautiful deer! They looked-to me---like, maybe 8 pointers...all 3 of "em!

excellent video. I agree about the cinch traps but the new cinch traps appear to have removed a spring coil, now my traps do not last a year. It almost feels like the spring will stop rather than continue to 'load' the spring. Bummer since I had 10 yr old traps and now I can not get them to last.

Good advice, good video ,with your tools, you are making a nice tight fitting set hole ,a must for a high catch rate, I use a Burrow Buddy Trapping Tool to get this nice set hole, This tool is also used by my grandkids to set the Death Kluch Traps.

Good ideas regarding your thoughts on cinch trap modifications. My biggest problem is locating the tunnels. I have been using other traps where I find both tunnels and place the traps inside both of the tunnels. I have been covering the hole with a piece of plywood because I thought the gophers would push dirt into an area they saw light instead of going to the trap. I also use a bit of peanut butter to attract them. Do you use any peanut butter or something else to attract them, and if not why does the gopher go to the trap? Just curious. Thanks for posting and God Bless...

We're you able to figure out a better solution?
@markv98903 жыл бұрын
@@MonsterSmileMusic Yes. I purchased a few Victor The Black Box Gopher Killer traps off ebay. They by far are the best traps I have ever used. I really mean they are the best traps I have ever used. I always get a kill. No peanut butter needed. You can locate the tunnels with a probe and dig up an area large enough to place two traps back to back and cover area with a piece of plywood and dirt to prevent light from getting in. I never touch the bottom portion of the trap to avoid getting my scent on the trigger. If you get a gopher, re-arm the trap and place it back into the same hole. I have killed three and four gophers in the same tunnel system. These traps are no longer in production but you can find them used. The new version of this trap has had poor reviews so I have not bought any of the new ones. Good luck and happy huntin...

Not to good for moles. They bury it and don't set it off. About 1 out of 4. You got to ware gloves the sheet metal is really sharp. And mine rusted up real bad.

I have one that made three new mounds in 24 hours next to my one of only two trees that are still growing in our blackwater planter in the high desert mesa near Taos NM. It barely gets above freezing during the day. I ordered a bunch of those cinch traps!!!
@kaolinwasher8 жыл бұрын
you can try some poison on him , just make sure you plug the hole after the poison makes phosgene gas when it hits the stomach of the gopher and kills it zinc phophide is whats in the poison

The gophers were mocking me. Tried those 'traditional' traps (they just got packed with dirt), tried bait (just got my dog sick), tried gassing them - the gophers just laughed. Then got a couple of the Cinch traps at Coastal Farm & Ranch. Bang! could hear the sucker go off! Got a big fat one within a few hours!
