hello, can you tell me why when I work on the rendering light, the appearance is immaculate with dots/pixels that take a very long time to load. It starts loading again every time I move in the view, and no matter how long I wait, the result is constantly loading and doesn't load any more. It's a shame I can't continue rendering :/ I hope I'm understood, I'm a French student trying to understand an English tutorial ahah :) Thanks in advance for your reply !

In the render panel on the right hand sides try lowering the sample size to something smaller like 500 ( you can go even smaller but start here), make sure you tick the box that says Denise and that you have your GPU selected not CPU

Autodesk Fusion Software looks like fun. How long does it take to become an expert at designing toys, and props?
@designwithsimon22 күн бұрын
It is a lot of fun. To get the basics so that you can model something doesn't take that long, maybe a couple of weeks then it just depends how complex you want to go with your modelling

The fillet tool in Fusion is the worst tool i see in CAD programs, all time have errors, in OnShape you can fillet any line without errors and can "mold" the surfaces at your imagination, or in Shapr3D the same, you can fillet all without errors...
@designwithsimonАй бұрын
Yea sometimes it really doesn't want to cooperate. I haven't used onshape but iv played with shaper and also plasticity and they both do work better from what iv seen

i'd say around H: 55mm x W: 30mm x Thickness 10mm? so i can get the motor, module and battery in? Not as advanced and good as you so what do you think?
@designwithsimonАй бұрын
Without looking at some references I couldn't say 💯 but if it's going in the back you may just be able to draw out a rectangle 55 by 30 and extrude it out by 10. Then on one of the wide surfaces of that new extrude you could cut a slot to add in any parts that you need.

It's part of a bigger series of videos where we create the chair in fusion then bring it over to blender to texture light and render it. And yes I can do a video on doing a turntable animation

i m industrial designer , so for us ,is it compulasry to learn surface modeling in fusion or solid modeling is workable?
@designwithsimon2 ай бұрын
I think it would really just depend on what it is your trying to model. I don't use surfacing very often I feel like I can do most things with solid modeling. In reality knowing a bit of both would probably be best but your always going to favor one method of the other
@chrisbryan25392 ай бұрын
Couldn't they just add a "cad" function to maya? It's pretty much the same except maya doesn't have the ability to use measurements like in cad.. My boss wants me to learn fusion for work, and I've been using maya since it was alias. Moving around in fusion is an absolute nightmare. They seem to have used the German method instead of the kiss method.
@designwithsimon2 ай бұрын
that would be great if it did. I know its a different software but blender does have some addons that lets you use it in a more CAD like way
@alinc3d78Ай бұрын
Except Maya can totally use measurements. Once you set your scene world units, using the distance tool along with your object scales in XYZ. Granted its not CAD focused, so requires a bit more labor i'm sure in Maya compared to Fusion, Rhino, Solidworks but the function is there. One of the reasons i'm watching this video and looking for answers. I also come from an extensive maya and 3d modeling background, but entertainment focused and not function focused. Im looking to get into 3d printing for functional prints, and trying to figure out if its worth doing in maya or if learning Fusion 360 or Blender would be easier for printing purposes. It seems like some of the CAD tools allow for quick boolean like operations and bevel applications cleaner without the requirement of subdividing geometry or focusing on clean topology. Thinking cut out holes or applying threading for screws. Wondering if this is the case or if its just a matter of knowing the software?
@designwithsimonАй бұрын
If it's more for functional prints I agree a CAD package is the way to go, topology isn't something you need to worry about at all so it's one less thing to think about. Exporting to 3d print from fusion is very easy you can just export mesh as STL then put into your slicing software. I know you can set up for 3d printing from blender but iv never tried so I wouldn't really be able to speak about it with any confidence
@deeber352 ай бұрын

Under the modify tab there is a thickness option. You can also do it when you have finished forms and go to the surfacing tab

Great vid 😎👌👍why is filleting such a pain in fusion? Ive used NX and that seemed fine..what did you do to modify, it was too fast for me 🙈 cheers 😁
@designwithsimon6 ай бұрын
Thank you. i think sometimes the fillets don't work because there are faces or edges that are to close together or overlapping. Sometimes the order you do the fillets in matters so i have had the fillets not work but then just filleted all the edges around it and then tried again and it has worked. And sometimes i think fusion just wants to be difficult

@designwithsimon8 ай бұрын
On the right hand side in the properties panel. There should be an arrow for a drip down menu. You need to change the file type to alpha blending. Alpha means it will allow you to turn opacity on. When youv changed it to alpha you should then be able to scroll down on each material layer and a tick box next to opacity should of appeared and you can just tick that to turn it on
