Sorry to say but android kept getting updated with new security patches which is good but perodua's car player remained the old legacy unit with no improvements hence one of the security updates stopped the connection from working already a year or so after my vid :(

Huawei P9 probably don't have android above 8 so it may work for you but hard to say also as their android version is heavily customized/modified vs OnePlus which uses near stock android so i was able to use it up to android 10. Test your cable first. Can your phone and cable connect to your computer ? If that works, it should work the same with the car player. Ativa is newer than Aruz but if Perodua use the same car player it should work. You'll need Drive Mode and Smart Link. Drive Mode is installed from the car player once your connect the USB cable to it. This is the hard part as not all Perodua models have this Drive Mode anymore. I only know Aruz 2019/2020 has it. Perodua messed up the car player system so badly. Outdated system with no plans to update it at all if your Ativa is also using the same car player.

most phones running on android 10 could still connect to it like mine in the vid until some security update end of last year blocked it completely. :(

@@snapvity SC can't help in this because changes not made to the car player but made by android security patch. Cheapest solution now is use bypass cable + HDMI. However, bypass cable u should check with SC if they are ok for you to use it.

Sorry tak boleh lagi if u sudah update to latest android security patch. After a few ppl said cannot i cuba la try update and now not working anymore :( If u belum update android, u can try connect to another Perodua like 2019 Aruz with Drive Mode get it installed first then only u try in your car. It should work. Drive mode main purpose is to prompt for screen casting only.

If it stops at first bar then it could be cable issue. You can do a test. If you plug your phone to your computer/smart tv USB port using this cable does it work ?

Well you just saw in my vid it can connect. Just the matter of needing some app combination and the right USB cable. Based on all the comments I've read majority phones that can't connect are Huawei phones.

ok lets check a few things. 1) you install the perodua smart link app from appstore already right ? 2) you're able to connect and share screen using the perodua smart link app correct ? 3) what happens to your screen when you handbrake down?

If your drive mode load after u plug your phone, after handbrake down just start waze from inside drive mode like in my vid. After that u can minimize your screen and load anything u want i.e KZbin. It won't force drive mode up and it won't block you from viewing KZbin (after saying this Perodua will most likely create a fix for this if there's update to drive mode).

@@guaudaklengchai8343 When you plug your phone into the aruz car player top usb port and run smart link from the car player, it will ask to install drive mode to your phone. Make sure your phone have usb debugging enabled first.

@@guaudaklengchai8343 you can try 2 ways. 1) if u got friend using Aruz just connect to the car player it will install. 2) try search on google "drive mode 1.9.4". I think some of the apk sites will have a link for you to download.

Hmm my first vid was making it work without bypass mode. Have you tried following that vid ? The key to sharing your phone screen is Perodua Smart Link app not Bypass mode.

Drive Mode auto push to your phone when you connect your phone to the usb port.

@@FavouriteVideoHustle it is an additional setting in developer mode to allow 3rd party app install via USB. Some phones have this but not all.

The update will normally be asked at the beginning when you first try to connect. No need to update as it won't work. My guess any acceptable update will only come from Perodua SC when they have a new version in the future.

Huawei models seem to face USB debugging problems with Aruz. Other ppl shared vid on FB cannot get past 1st bar during connection attempts. Is yours also the same ? Can you also do a test pls ? In developer mode, try to enable 1) Allow ADB debugging in charge only mode 2) Always prompt when connecting to USB 3) Verify apps over USB Try to connect again and see if your Aruz player try to force install "Easy Connect" and "Drive Mode" to your phone. Also just to isolate problem with your cable can you test to connect your phone to TV/Laptop/Desktop using the same cable and play music/do file access ? it should be a direct plug n play without needing to do anything.

ok lets test your cable then. do you have a desktop/laptop ? try connecting your phone to the usb port see if you can connect to your phone and see the files in your phone from your laptop/dekstop.

Hmm what phone model are u using ? Best way is to check the phone model in gsmarena.com. see what type of usb type -c your phone uses and get that.

So far i've tested up to here. Still need to use phone to control everything. In FB, someone posted by buying a paid app Car Launcher, you can control everything via the touch screen. He used my first vid guide to not install Drive Mode, added the app into Perodua Smart Link, clicked and launched it from there.

@@jiajunchew2524 I just tried. Touch screen works if u r on Perodua Smart Link but once u click to anything from the quick launch button i.e KZbin Waze the touch screen fails. Let's just wait for Android 11 to see if this gets fixed.

What Perodua model are you using ? Tbh drive mode is a nuisance because it will always try to take center stage. If it doesn't show up ( like in Myvi) and you can connect straight to Perodua smart link then all the better...but if drive mode keep popping up then just install it like I showed in the 2nd vid. So far the 2nd vid is the most stable way.

@@FirdausMazlanI'm assuming you seen my first vid where I enabled usb debugging already as a pre - requirement. Let's try this first. Don't launch perodua smart link. Just plug in your phone cable to the usb port. What do you see ? If drive mode don't show up means you're not connecting at all. Could be problem with cable. Cable can charge your phone doesn't mean it is compatible for screen casting. Btw what phone model are you using ?
