Because i'm such a loot goblin, i've died more times while looting cars, and as i manually open a van, a bomber instantly explodes inside because i was too close to it. It was very punishing

i bought the game a few months ago (i first played DL2 never played DL1)but am to scared to begin playing it haha, any tips for me?

You'll be fine. Can be quite scary at first. I'd recommend leveling up the Character well. Be sure to dodge and dash attacks to avoid taking hits. Have the ideal gear that does enough damage. Salvage any items you find as they can be used for crafting/upgrading weapons. Have Flares ready for night time. You'll definitely pick it up as you progress.

I just had this happen to me in my hardest settings run at the same location. the only difference was that i kicked a zombie under the car at the back Doors. When the Doors opend for the bomber to get out and explode he tripped over the zombie and when he hit the ground he insta exploded. Resulting in my insta death.

No it's actually a playable option. When you have the Winter's expansion. The Winter's Expansion gives you The Shadow of Rose DLC Story and the option to play the base game in 3rd person.
