All of those other ladies were quite beautiful, but honestly i think they pale in comparison. She's absolutely gorgeous, and as far as I've heard she wasn't a diva about it. When you like someone's personality, their physical appearance shines brighter in your minds eye

To the best of my knowledge, none of those other starlets slept with the most powerful men on the planet or had movies and scenes as memorable as hers. I can't recall a single scene more famous than the one where she gets her skirt blown up.

I know girls who look like Marilyn Monroe like it's not that she's not pretty it's just like I no more than one person who looks like her and they're also pretty, But yeah I think the obsession comes from the suicide and the shock that it kind of caused to Hollywood and then Hollywood's shock disseminating out through the masses because of parasocial relationships.

It's like an unfinished story. When a star dies young, people can wonder, "What if"

But this scale of obsession and the longevity of it is unique. it's actually like a very interesting question. I think about it occasionally But I've never seen like a KZbin video about it

Someone said she was only beautiful because of make up and expensive dresses, so she did a photoshoot in a potato sack. Nailed it, of course. That's why I love her, at least. The rest of you, idk.

Not just dying young, but specifically dying before we could see her age/get older. Men aren’t looking at photos of her in her 70s and saying “oh how pretty she used to be”. They only have the young, beautiful version of her to obsess over, with no older image of her to ruin that obsession.

The demolition was not Lincoln Square, it was San Juan Hill San Juan Hill was a community in what is now the Lincoln Square neighborhood of the Upper West Side in Manhattan, New York City. Its residents were mostly African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and Puerto Rican, and comprised one of the largest African-American communities in New York before World War I. Wikipedia Interesting that West Side Story completely omits the largest demographic of San Juan Hill: African-Americans.

Yougoslavia and Czechoslovakia were both founded in 1918 after the Great War (WW1) and their existence both ended in 1992, though on really different terms. But Saskatchewan was once an independent country, untill 62 days later it was conquered by the Canadian government. The record, I believe, is held bytthe Russian Democratic Federative Republic. It was founded on Jan 19th 1918 around mid-day and replaced before bedtime by the USSR.

If the constitution in its previous form was never replaced, there would be no United States of America. The states were too powerful, this wasn’t a country, it was 13 countries in a trade union. The federal government was utterly incapable of doing its job as it relied on donations from the states it was completely subservient to. Even if you ignore the US federal policy that shaped early American into the powerhouse it is today and assume somehow the states work it out (they wouldn’t), there would’ve been no authority to buy Louisiana, American growth would be halted upon its inception and it would never spread into the fertile plains or the golden coast. I despise how people defend the original constitution for the idea of ‘states rights’ when it means we wouldn’t even have states at all, just thirteen countries squabbling amongst eachother and destroying their great potential.

There's w reason The Articles of Confederation failed, and why the 10th Amendment had to be put in to make it clear that the States aren't their own sovereigns

They had to implement taxes because the States were demanding funds and help from the Central Government and they can't make citizens do things for free

“ the great achievement of their father’s generations” stealing the country from the indigenous people and from England’s initial steak and claim and financing and populating. Then more “great achievements” after their own newly established government taxed things like Whiskey to help pay for the revolutionary war they just engaged in and caused major debt. But no we can’t repay for stealing a country we have to rebel against your own newly formed government. SMH but yea, great achievement that Luis and Clark aspired to. So they slaughtered indigenous people as they mapped out the rest of the lands they helped steal. Hmm seems like lots of stealing going on with “patriots”.
