Really enjoyed this. You handled the fills and flams spot on as far as I can tell. Having trouble watching an SC cover with matchstick instead of traditional, and no socks! (Need those 70's knee-highs he wore!) :> Thanks for the great musicianship and post.

Hello! great cover!! I'm very happy to ramdonly find yor channel, I was loofink for some Police Covers and end up here. I say that because i've been looking to buy this Mehmet Sultan Set, but i'm very insecure as I'm not able to test them live before gettin it. Whats your thought on the ride cymbal? I've noticed that on this video you're not with the sultan ride anymore. Could you share some thoughts on that set? thanks so much!!

Hello! Thank you for your comments ! The Sultan set is not fun to play for jazz, but for the rest it's fine! It has the character of Jazz cymbals but thicker. Nice dynamics and sounding good played very soft. The medium ride 20'' has a nice bell sound and has a quite heavy ping. You can crash it but it's not explosive, too thick. On this video I use a 19'' El Negro crash as a ride. Don't hesitate if you have more questions!

Nowadays I'm really into funk, neo-soul and black music, but I alsoplay rock (not heavy stuff). Do you feel that it has a somewhat "trashy" sound, but not as dirty as a Turk and not as clean as the traditional, as advertized by the brand? And you said about the thickness, which version of the Sultans you have? Medium or Light? It's very rare to see such well recorded cover with these cymbals. Everytime i've searched fot them, i've got a lot of drum shops tsting them. Let m suggest to you putting them as a tag or something, defenetly people would end up here! Thank you very much, this is a huge help.

@@luiscurtolo Indeed the sultan series has some trash sound, just enough to make them interesting in the different dynamics and to keep them versatile, the trashiness is quite subtile. In the sultan series, I use a medium ride 20'' (on the other videos), 17'' thin crash, 14'' hihat and a 6'' and 8'' splash. I have to say that every cymbal sound different, even in the same series, the pitch won't be the same. I'm not a cymbal seller but I hope you'll find what you need ! Thank you for your compliments !

Absolutely unbelievable man I was blown away by the precision and accuracy. The pocket was perfect. It’s true, if you played this for the average joe, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between you and the almighty Stewart Copeland on a studio track mind you. Unbelievable. 10/10 would recommend

Excellent job! And what an amazing band the Police were. They hitched a ride on the Punk Rock bandwagon, but these were some very skilled musicians. It was very soon apparent that they weren’t a punk band. I guess they were a legit new wave band but they were all so very gifted musically.
