I’ve been saying this for years and years. We’ve been floating out into the football abyss since 2003. We hung in there for a few years with the men’s team from 2002 and thought things would just work themselves out. No investment. Nothing. It’s very sad and this isn’t even the worst of it. We truly are going into minnow status and we will be a team EVERYONE expects to beat while other minnows fancy their chances. That’s where we are going. We have no bloody hope of qualifying for anything for the next two decades.

When a team plays dirty they often many benefits when the dirty play is not noticed or penalized and these benefits need to weighed against the effects of a red or yellow card. 2. NZ's dirty play resulted in SA losing their only dedicated hooker. Does a yellow card make up for this loss? 3. SA received 2 yellow cards in the second half which went some say to off-set NZ's red card. 4. If the panel wants to make a big deal of the NZ missed kicks in the final then they should do the same with SA's missed kicks in their Irish game. 5. It was not only NZ that missed try opportunities in the final. Siya failed to pass when there was a 50 / 50 try opportunity for SA.

I was in Brussels a week before the match. We wandered around the city and the Atomium and the park. We walked up to the walls of the stadium and they were about 6 feet high. Not the enormous imposing structure you would expect for such a high profile game with the potential for crowd trouble. It was an awful decision to hold it there. Not a LFC fan and not excusing what happened - but there are reasons why opposing fans are kept apart. That stadium was the wrong choice before the game started.

Let’s be honest, I played rugby at a very much lower level than these guys but I also had to go to work on Monday. So because of the wish to play and the need and wish to go to work I played while carrying an injury and took as many codine and ibruprofen as needed on Saturday morning and Monday too. If asked at team selection if I was fit I said yes, unless I had an injury that would limit my performance (groin strain, hamstring pull etc.) We are rugby players and we want to play. I was never payed to play and never pressured to play. The fact is that we are all big boys and we know that the game is hard on our bodies. Play or not. But playing is better than not.

The one Liverpool fans never mention because they can’t play the victims or hold enquiries to find a scapegoat!!

It’s the same thing every season because of the setup of the tournaments. You can’t send the first team squad to SA at this stage of the season. The URC knockout games and champions cup knockout games are too close together. It makes winning both tournaments difficult. Very difficult. But Leinster want to win the champions cup more. As we have seen in the past two seasons it leaves you open to finishing up empty handed.

I do feel the breaks in the season have impacted the development of the players . Since they dropped the amount of rds and stopped the extra games for younger players it was going to backfire

I am an Evertonian & I reckon EUFA should take big chunk of the blame for playing it in a stadium that was not fit for purpose. The wall that collapsed was in need of repair & had a failed an inspection prior to the game. What always sticks out in my memory is Graeme Souness who was there as a commentator. After the wall collapsed some supporters in Juventus scarfs had spilled onto the pitch & looking for trouble & Souness said they’re not Juventus fans there Liverpool fans who have stole Juventus scarfs. Kopites still idolize Souness but that’s Kopites for you.
