When you hear this today, you think that for the last 30 years, only charlatans have been presented in opera houses. I know how I suffer when so-called stars sing such roles today. Usually nothing comes of it except a tired baritone wheeze (hello, Jonas Kaufmann). Opera is degenerating into a travesty and is almost unbearable.

Какой голос! Как жаль, что он так рано перестал петь, ведь так хорошо звучит! Звук заполняет все вокруг, вибрирует, обволакивает, манит... Эх ( Но, это его выбор. Ушел - величайшим и непобеждённым. И остался таким - навсегда.

In the late 80’s I sang in the chorus as a student. Lando sang Radames with Aprile Millio. He was stunning! A wall of sound and dead on pitch. He was also a heck of a nice guy.
