Would this damage a new inverted topsheet, and if yes would the towel and iron method cause damage? I'm thinking about a Tenergy 05 topsheet on a Dignics 09C sponge and how it would compare to Tenergy 05 Hard, as spring sponge x is supposed to be more elastic with more dwell time at a similar hardness.

@alekssbelskis3544 why you do it on inverted rubber? Table tennis regulation , you have to use sponge at the back of inverted rubber, there is no OX version of inverted rubber

@@asiandrum So that you can add a different sponge, the Dignics spring sponge x is an upgraded version of the Tenergy spring sponge so it would be interesting to see how a new Tenergy topsheet behaves on a new spring sponge x if this method doesn’t damage topsheets or sponges. Remember Wang Hao used Butterfly Sriver with a Bryce sponge for his backhand. This used to be a lot more common in China as players could buy their favourite topsheet and sponge and stick them together, then DHS bought the leading sponge maker Yunhai and developed Hurricane as a complete rubber and stopped selling sponges which mostly killed the practice of choosing your own sponge and topsheet combinations for amateur players.

@alekssbelskis3544 to be honest, we have not tried to separate inverted sponge, but yes I think you do using the same method, due to factory use similar glue for pips or inverted.

Some players have trouble with playing styles. Timo always struggled with him and never liked playing him. Samsonov had trouble with Ma Lin despite playing well against top level chinese players. Ma Lin struggled with Wang Liqin.

Wow, just wow! Ryu’s footwork was unparalleled. He could get to any ball no matter where he was. Just incredible. His style really can’t sustain with that footwork at the Olympic level. Watching this match 20 years later, it still amazes me.
