What’s the smallest tank where you’d get schooling behavior like this from Moss Barbs, rather than schooling behavior? Would love to have a school in a tank in my son’s room. But size is a limiting factor.

55 gallon and 12+ tiger barb with vegetation. Without Plant to hide in they won't feel as safe to school around like this. how you decorate your tank is very important for fish behavior

@@wabalaka1565 Thank you so much for the response? Do you need to keep other sorts of fish to keep the “tension” high enough for them to school? Usually when I see barbs in a tank, at best they shoal. But, I’d be interested to design a long well planted tank just to make Moss Tiger barbs like these the stars of it if I could get them to behave this way.

@@michaelbdougherty These barb are naturally active you don't really need any fish to make them school. Although having more variety of fish will make your tank look nicer. I recommend Cory or Panda Garra for bottom many would recommend clown loach but I it is over done at this point and Tetra, Other Barb or center piece fish.

Hi Hamish Minimum 8-10 if you want them to shoal, but 90 ltr a bit small for that

Nice behavior. Will they mix with regular tiger barbs or do they stay separate?

Hi Pieter They are fine with tigers but I have not mixed them personally. Depending on the size of your tank depends on your shoal size, I have 16 in 350ltrs which seems perfect .

@@DuplessisLenny1 nice size tank, look up polysperma that’s a great plant that’s easy to grow, giant vallis, java fern, anubis & cryptocorn all a good choice with some bog wood. Loads of good guys on here giving advice on setting up a planted tank 👍
