Dang cool. After the announcement of Doom SNES Definitive Edition, I think it would be cool to see Doom II officially released as a physical cartridge too, and maybe with even more improvements and tweaks and such. :D

Imagine if devs could do this back in the early 90s.... the amount of content they could fit on a single 3.5" floppy and how many games we could fit on our 50mb HDD would be insane. I remember watching a video about how they do this, and i still can't comprehend it.

If they could somehow find a creative way to implement the Super Shotgun (which would be no easy feat considering the normal shotgun isn't even really implemented correctly in SNES Doom due to technical limitations but they could make an SSG do more damage or target up to five random onscreen enemies simultaneously maybe), implement the new monsters (at-least the Revenant, Chaingunner, Hellknight, Arachnotron, and Mancubus since the Revenant might be an insurmountable technical challenge on SNES), and get the music to work I'd say this is a worthwhile endeavor. Icon of Sin as the last level would be cool but if that's too taxing for SNES they could just use the Redemption Denied level from the PSX version.

DOOM snes was the first version I played, I thought it was amazing, kept me well interested for a whole year. I rate it as one of the top 10 snes games.

I'm still pretty amazed all these years later that they managed to get a relatively complete and playable version of doom on SNES and with a kickawesome soundtrack to boot. Pretty much the ONLY thing it had going for it, what with the limited sprites, limited frames of animation, poor frame rate, horrible resolution, missing levels.....but damn man, it was mother effin' Doom on SNES! Then of course Nintendo had to go ahead and reward us with Doom 64 and that made up for it in spades.
