It seems like there are a lot of ideas packed into one response, which might make it a bit challenging to follow. However, this could be beneficial for exams. Regarding the tone, is it suitable for the exam? It's a mix of formal and casual, which might not be ideal.

I noticed he takes long pauses before answering part 3. How is it perfect fluency if he is not answering immediately?

In online tests, it is expected that there will be some level of latency / delay, possibly due to internet issues. Also, if the hesitation is to prepare content (not to access vocab / grammar), it does not pull your mark down. Full feedback, comments and marks are coming soon (probably tomorrow)

Hello, please know that speed and clarity should be balanced. The exam is not testing your ability to provide lengthy, developed, and thoughtful answers in ungodly speeds! Pauses can be used to create emphasis, show intentionality, and to simplify ideas. Those who are unable to pause with intention are more likely to use non-words, fillers, and create incoherent statements. I really appreciate this question!

Oh definitely one of the guys with a bigger arsenal when it comes to lexis! While I'm noticing the rather peculiar choices as well, there's something about the personal touch, the twitch of the face, and the way they rolled off this tongue that made me feel he's used them a lot before. Part of me suspects he learned the expressions from mix of western reading materials and translated materials. There's hodgepodge of mixed up MODERN and RELEVANT idioms :)

Glyn, I'm beyond grateful for the mock exam! The thing that hijacked my attention right off the bat when I started watching was the number of times I used "I don't know". No idea how to wean myself off these filler words, but I'll try to address it. I had a couple of grammar mistakes as well. Overall, considering I'd only slept 3 hours the night before it wasn't that bad😅

I am not sure I can love this dude's animated speaking any more than I already do! If we have to be technical about it, the frequency of his filler statements and non-word utterance can be more controlled. Energy is great but I'm convinced that Glyn's skillful simulation of an IELTS testing environment really got to Max. "you know" "i don't know". They rolled off his tongue so naturally and so easily, I suspect he was partly relieving some tension by repeating them. -- He has a strong access to language. -- He is able to transition from one idea to another. -- A part of me thinks there were some partially prepared words in there (+ points), they were delivered well! -- "On a daily basis" "steer clear of it" "chalk it up to" such great and modern expressions! Yeah! Really enjoyed this guy!

Part 3: I write this with much regard and kindness. I think Max's performance was slightly affected by the abundance of ideas. I can visualize the mental traffic. While this speaking is really enjoyable to listen to, I think he forgot he's speaking for an examiner (or for an evaluation). Select concepts that will be easy to explain without veering off different paths and exhaustive details. Very cerebral and philosophical approaches to each question! wish he didn't sacrifice some of the marking criteria.
