Christ’s Second Coming: The well know infamous “rapture doctrine”, is nowhere to be found in the scriptures but the second coming of Christ and the resurrection are supported by the scriptures! Suffice to say, the rapture doctrine was first introduced around 1830 by John Nelson Darby, a Plymouth Brethren Minister who fled England to America. This makes the (rapture doctrine), less than 200 years old at best! The early church did not teach such doctrine, neither did Jesus or any of the disciples. The rapture teaching was “ imposed” on the scriptures by Darby in the early 1800s and handed down to mostly the Pentecostals and Charismatics in the late 19th century. The Evangelicals continued the doctrine on into the 20th Century and beyond eventually becoming known as the end-times teaching called “Dispensationalism”, ( Please do your research on John Nelson Darby and Dispensationalism). As I eluded to earlier it was mostly believed at first by early Charismatics and Pentecostals but today in 2024 it is taught as the Biblical doctrine by probably 80% of Evangelical believers. Christians need to realize 1 Thess. 4:16-17, and 1 Cor. 15:51-55, are about the Resurrection of the Dead at the 2nd Coming and what happens then and not about “ rapture or natural Israel”. Christians alive and sleeping will be changed immediately from mortal to immortality from perishable to imperishable at Christ ‘s coming taking on glorified bodies like unto Jesus glorified body. If those who support the rapture doctrine want to say being changed into our immortal bodies is akin to a rapture, I’m okay w that but we will not be whisked off to Heaven for seven years to escape tribulation as dispensational’s claim. Why is that not true, you may ask? Because nowhere in scripture is that teaching found. Once we are changed Christ in all His majesty, power and glory will cast Satan and all his angels into the abyss never more to be seen. Keep in mind what order these things could happen is not as important as what will happen. After this will be the judgment of the unsaved who are resurrected with the Saints at Christs coming and they too will be eternally condemned and banished from the presence of God forever, (Daniel 12:2). At this point I believe Jesus Christ and his angels including the Saints of God will began to set up the eternal Kingdom of God on earth as (Revelation 21:1-2)declares a New Heaven n New Earth and a New Jerusalem wherein will dwell righteousness for all eternity. Amen.
