This could be The Ultra harcore mode. Since there is the hardcore mode where the only green areas in the levels are the beginning and the end.

This time, I actually have the support of the community! The template will likely reach the stable beta in a matter of days (at worst, in the middle of May). This will mean that it will be perfectly usable for fangames that don't use special terrains from the 4th game. It may not be as groundbreaking in terms of mechanics, but it will be groundbreaking in terms of it actually being a functional remake for once. With how accessible Godot is, fangames could actually become collaborations in the community. With the way that multiple people could be level designers, coming up with gameplay ideas won't be a problem for the future remakes. I'm having so much fun using Godot too.

Update: This is taking longer than I initially thought, as I'm changing the systems to be more powerful. What I'm currently working on is making the game strictly run at 240 ticks per second, resulting in perfect consistency across devices. It should also be made that inputs are registered independently from the rendered frames, so in theory you'll be able to pull off a 240 fps frame perfect while the game runs as badly as 30 fps. The catch is, Godot CAN'T detect inputs this precisely, as its input polling rate is tied to the visual fps no matter what. My current plan is to modify the engine and make a custom C++ module to send input signals directly and get the precision I want. Even after making the custom module, it will still take some effort to fully translate the game (the cycles, mostly) to the system with 240 internal frames per second. However, this sure as hell will be worth it when it will come to high level gameplay.

Sorry for the discord pings, I forgot to set the "do not disturb" mode. However, they actually kinda helped me. It made me feel like "eh, this run probably won't be finished" which made it way less stressful.
