A firm I worked for had one of those, but when they were taken over, it was replaced with a 48RB. Only four of them ever made.

We have quite a few of these machines in my area of S Wales in the u.k. but most in Terex or Cat yellow colours, think they are the most popular in this size class, along with Komatsu pc 3000 diggers

I agree with cletrac - what on earth is he tearing about like that for! A D8 looks a lot more impressive moving sedately. He stalled it to stop the engine too.

A 435 is a small scraper for a D8H. You can pull it anywhere. We use 463s and they work great behind a D8H

this model run a Ruston VRH 3 cylinder about 32 hp @ around 700 max rpm my dad was a owner/operator of a 10RB for many years. as a kid i spent a lot of time in the cab with him. the sound of that engine was so sweet. the noise of squealing brakes on the lift and drag winch drums was something else. dads dragline was scrapped about 10 years ago but i have the engine and hope to get it running.

You really are a foul mouth person. I was operating this dragline for the first time in 3 years with a severe arthritic hip which I have since had replaced, I am also 69 years old. You should be damn well ashamed of yourself saying things like that on a site children watch.

Hydraulic steering via a tiller in the cab. One went over the edge on Mt Hotham, Victoria, 50 years ago because of insufficient oil pressure resulting from low engine revs!
