Two absolutely stunning fish. Not sure what you we're using for bait ? But, I'm now 71 and was thinking back 🤔 to my late teens early twenties, we used to get some beautiful crucian carp and some were a good size too, although we never used to weigh them very much. Our bait back then ? Sometimes worm, bread paste, but one of the favourite's was, Custard powder paste, 😋 they loved it . Wonder if it would work 50 years down the line ?? O'h by the way, thats a beautiful looking lake you have there young Sir, you obviously take great pride in it and quite rightly so. All the best ,be lucky. Cheers Les.

Great video as ever, such a relaxed and honest presentation. I've just got back from a 3 day trip very near to this stretch. Like you it is a 300 plus mile round trip from north east London but it is worth every minute of the journey. I had a brilliant time in some very challenging conditions and caught lots (for me) of hard fighting barbel including my first ever double. No place like it in terms of scenery, wildlife and the variety of water you can fish and there is no way better than getting out in the waders and trotting - no maggots for me though!

Just got back from the Wye using my new Korum landing net. The net spreader broke where the thread insert attaches to the main block when my wife attempted to land an 8lb Barbel. I am an engineer and the design is flawed due to the old saying a chain is as strong as its weakest link. The cure is extremely simple during manufacture at no extra cost. I have been an angler for over 60 years and have never had a break on a landing net before despite landing many fish heavier than 8lb.

I regularly fish the Bala AA stretches for Grayling and I've been changing flies with point or a dropper dangling in the water between my legs and a Grayling has taken the fly, they're not shy fish.

The River Wye,.is far the best river to catch a Barbel,. Their strength per pound is second to none in absolute stunning environments,.and in stunning condition,. The wye barbel is actually an evasive fish, taken from the river Severn,. Local knowledge is paramount to catch on day ticket stretches as the holding places or beat for barbel stretches are syndicate only,. So there's not enough bait going in on the day ticket stretches because no one catches, and the beats just become tired,.

Rarer to catch a Barbel that small than a double figure Barbel So my fishing buddy told me when I caught my first ever Barbel on the Lea at Fishers Green some years ago

Have watched several of your videos now and hadn't realised just how big Korum was !! Also found out who the parent company is out of curiosity?. I must say i have been pretty impressed with what i have seen so far. I have recently bought a 12' extd rod 1.75 LB. TC. Can't wait to get it out on the bank. Thought's ? Might seem a bit drastic but, swapping all my current tackle trade in /up, and go compact rod's, holdall, reels, i would have to sell all my current tackle. Impressed with your rod's/reels/ rod holadall, also like the unhooking matt ,neat compact does the job and stows away beautifully. End tackle also impressive too. Some great idea's especially all the quick change rigs, just great. Better go or I'll go on for to long. Cheers all at Korum. Les.

High Nick, nice few sessions 👌 put together there mate 👍 Must say although difficult it looked pretty bloody good, I can understand why you favoured one swim in particular 😉. You stuck with the pellets, was wondering what might have happened if you had made the switch to meat 🍖 🤔 ?? I don't know if you have tried this or not ?? but, in the past I have actually cast upstream, just like up-tiding from a boat, and yes it has worked not every time but I have had a few successes. As always well done mate 👍. Cheers Les.

Something similar that spreads out wider and lows the height down for better coverage and wind, would also give you space either side of the bedchair for bags etc
@Sniffer11117 күн бұрын
Id like to see one with a smaller footprint. Doesnt need to be able to house a bedchair.

Baiting up this way is all very well if you get the bait free most of us could not afford to even think about spending this kind of money on bait for 1 session this ammount would have to last me all spring and summer at least .

No chance of winning now 😮 is there ??? This was 2 years ago but never seen this video before ?? Where's it 🤔 been hiding. Korum extd 's nice rods, just recently bought the 12' 13/4 LB tc.

High Nick, well done mate 👏 you had some absolute beauties throughout this video. I have just recently bought myself a 12' 1 3/4 LB tc extd , lovely rod, not used yet but soon will be. Will be using a Shimano nexave 4000 reel on it. Im thinking more on the lines of float fishing with it, probably lift method 🤔. As I have 4 other carp rods for bottom fishing, 2 Daiwa infinity X 12' 2 1/4 tc and 2 slim jim long rangers 13' 3 1/4 tc. I did say lift method, but I also guess it will be well suited to some surface fishing too ? Again great viewing 👌 mate, rucksack is pretty cool 😎 too. Can't get one though 😕 the mrs would skin me alive. Haven't you got enough bags and boxes already !! Some women just don't get it 😕 do they. Cheers mate Les.

I come from Germany. I have a very large lake with an excellent bream population. The hair should fall short and hook better. I will be trying to catch large bream from 5 to 6 pounds upwards using a 20mm snowman rig. If the assembly does not work. I will mount a 24mm sinker with a 20mm pop up. Who knows some good advice? Bream up to 4 pounds didn't want a 2x 20mm pop up. They only bit on a single one. I don't want to catch smaller ones at a distance of 150 meters. The bream are light in color and long, rather than smaller and chubby. A friend had one that was 35 inches and 9 pounds. It would have been interesting to see how big the mouths are.
