This is off-topic I'm sorry, but every time I hear that "you carry him in here!" line, all I can think is... It was so gross of her to punish Louis, for years, just for having a compacity to love Lestat, even years after they believed him dead. Seeing as how that's the same compacity that allowed him to love her after all the nasty shit she pulled, including using him to "kill" his own husband. It's that same compacity to love, that had Louis leave Lestat for her. Stay with her even as she hated him, stay with her as she ran after the "coven of monsters" and just left him to himself. Gave her a companion that she could then leave him for, fought to save her even at the cost of his own life. And then held her in his heart, the same way he held Lestat, for 70yrs, after she died. It's perfectly okay and acceptable for her to have access to Louis' compacity to love, unconditionally. But how dare anyone else be loved by him at all. Gross. And all she cares about is how it's affecting her.

I love this! 100% agree with your description, I was so disappointed in s2 all round, like. why bother having loads of drama, breaking up their only sapphic couple, kind of leaning into the 'bi cheater' stereotype *and* screwing over Juliana/treating her as disposable if they weren't even going to properly develop the Kitty/Yuri storyline? and then going for *the* most predictable m/f ship in a forced way *and* using a lesbian song for them? it all felt rlly weird and like they basically just added the sapphic storyline for drama before shoving it out of the way to centre on a cishet man. messed up all round.

The only issue I had with the show was their reliance on using as many big name characters as possible. Elrond made sense, fine, Gandalf, kind of a stretch but I can deal. There was no need for Galadriel to be the main character when it could easily have been about her daughter Celebrian of whom we know very little. Celeborn is missing presumed dead so we could have had her blame Sauron for her father’s death (and mother’s seclusion in grief) and give her the same vengeance arc. The chemistry with Elrond works even better that way instead of her being his mother-in-law-to-be!!! Just one change would have made it perfect AND ambiguous to canon!! Xx
